This is my first video I have ever made so please don't make fun lol. This is a very nice bumper in my opinion and worth picking up. Fits very nicely buttons align perfectly. I'll probably stick with this bumper for awhile, but probably buy a stronger case for when I am at work. In terms of protection; I'd say not a whole lot, but it's good for around the house to protect from minor scratches on the corners basically. Enjoy!

Well done! Only thing lacking was actually seeing the bumper on the phone but since you were using the phone to shoot the video, that would have been a nice trick! All I wanted was something to keep the phone raised off the surface when I set it down but still show off the back so it sounds perfect. Oh and thanks for showing the unopened one!

That one is yours buddy! Shipping it first thing tomorrow morning!

If that link doesn't work please let me know! Or if you would like it from a different angle (thats what she said)

I think it looks really nice. I like the brushed metal look. Doesn't just look like a cheap piece of rubber. I'm VERY careful with my phones and I don't recall ever dropping my N1 so I think this is going to work out just fine.
Then like I said for work get a heavy duty case, because I don't want a scratch on this puppy! When I went to best buy to get my micro-sim card for this phone the girl in the mobile turned my phone on before I even got to since I got it.. should of seen the look on my face.. THEN!! Can you believe this started pushing buttons and filling out my login shit! THE NERVE! lol I just told her in a polite but shaking furious manner to please let me fill all that out, I've been wanting to do this since it came in the mail today at 5:30pm by UPS. I hope you read this UPS 5:30!? Please.. that's like santa showing up christmas day at like noon, Bitch I have been up waiting for your ass since 1:45am.
Anyway if there's anything else I can help you guys out with besides giving you my nexus 4 and bumper let me know!

I like it. I think it blends nicely with the phone; it really looks integral, as if it was a part of the phone. Please keep us informed as to how well it will actually protect the phone. That's still the question of the day (or week or month).

I am extremely careful with my phones and do everything possible to make sure they don't drop so I am one of those guys. That being said. I'll probably be able to give you a better idea after today and will post an update tomorrow. Tonight I am going to give it, what I am calling the drunk night out test. Tonight I am going out to get hammered with some friends in St. Louis and will have my phone with me. I will let you know how the night goes tomorrow morning!
You mentioned in your review that it took a little extra effort to get your auxiliary cord to seat all the way. I had this problem with my last case as the auxiliary cord going in to my car stereo is pretty fat at the end. It didn't matter too much b/c my car dock wouldn't work w/ my case on but it was a PITA to keep taking off the case every time I wanted to dock the phone and I ended up hardly ever using it. Won't make that mistake again. Any dock I get is going to have to work with the bumper on and I'm hoping my auxiliary cord will fit or I can modify the size of the hole w/o making it look awful.

no, I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. The case doesn't get in the way it's the phone itself that requires you to push it in a little harder. There's plenty of room for headphone and aux jack.
P.S. To answer someone elses question of why my name is Shotlimesalt is because I was a victim of this prank here and got dubbed the name shotlimesalt. Dennis & Mac - Tequila shots - YouTube

I really like the way it looks on the phone. Unless I start hearing about people saying that it isn't really protective, I do believe that when I get the Nexus, I will be getting the bumper as well.

I'm not sure how much good it will do if you drop the phone, but at the very least it sticks past the glass on the front and back so when you set the phone down it has some grip and won't just slide all over the place.
And waiting for me when I got home from work today....my Bumper! Thanks to the OP for hooking me up (at cost) with an extra one he got and shipping it priority mail!
It's exactly what I wanted. Something to keep the front and back elevated off the surface but not cover up the back which I love. Also adds a little grip to the side of the phone which is kind of slippery naked imo.
Thanks for the video. Wish I had remembered to order one when the device went on sale. Still don't have the device, but need a case of some sort for it.
Yes. I have used Google wallet with the bumper on and see no reason why wireless charging would not work.
One assumes that was the intended purpose of the "bumper", so that people could go bumping it on transaction terminals, others phones etc.
The wireless charging though ... since it's an electromagnetic field, the "inverse-square law" still applies, so manufacturers have used "resonant inductive coupling" to counteract the i-sl and improve efficiency between the sending and receiving coils, the primary limiting factor being the coil diameters in both components of the system.
So near-proximity yes (the "N" in NFC) but the additional bumper case distance is negligible compared to the coil diameters. As an experiment though, given a battery charge state of say 25%, it would be interesting to see how the presence of a bumper might increase charge times.
Might be an idea for an app if it doesn't already exist ... initial charge state, time to 100% and some sort of graphical comparison of events.

My auxiliary cord is pretty thin at the end, and it still won't work with this bumper. There's only about a millimeter of extra space for the cord grip. I find it hard to believe that any cord could work with it, given the poor design.
I'll look for some sort of adapter first, but I'll probably ditch the bumper once some better options come out anyway, as it doesn't feel like it would absorb much impact in a fall. The only purpose it serves it to lift the glass off the table and to keep it from sliding off of things.

Sorry to hear that. I was worried about this too but my cord fits perfectly. It's not thin either, it's a thick Monster cable. Are you sure you are pushing it in all the way. The OP is right, you've really got to give it a good push for it to seat all the way.
So the Nexus 4 is available for order again and the people who were on backorder are getting their phones this week (me included), however the bumpers are still on backorder. I ordered mine on the 13th and never got an email or update about it. It still says pending in Google Wallet and on Google Play they are still listed as sold out.
Now I can understand a phone taking a while to get caught up because of all the technology inside, but how hard is it to manufacture a rubber bumper?

Have you looked around on ebay or anything? I would imagine some have ditched their bumpers for cases by now or got duplicate orders like the OP. Or worse yet, got bumpers but gave up on ever getting the phone.
Bumpers are going anywhere from 30 - 100 on ebay. I'll just wait it out for one from Google. I don't want a full case for it, just a bumper. I'm careful with my phones and I don't want to cover up the back. I mainly just want the bumper so I don't have to worry about my phone sliding around when I set it down.
