I set up my Google Wallet with no problems at all. I tried to pay for a couple of things at a CVS and nothing happened. Tried again at a Chevron and it looked like it was about to work but got an error. Anybody else having NFC problems? Could be that I'm just new to it and I don't know what I'm doing.
Many places that have them installed don't actually have them functional. When I got my evo I tried it out at a walgreens and the Lady just stared blankly at me and didn't know what it was. The manager had to tell me they weren't operational

Haha I got the same blank look as she was thinking, "What the hell are you doing?" For the ones that are operational do I need to open Google Wallet or should it just do it from my home screen?
Works well for me. Went to Macy's this week and paid for a shirt. The lady stood there looking at what I was doing. Told me 5 times after the receipt printed that I needed a card to use the machine. Told her I paid already. She ended up calling the manager. 15 mins later I had a crowd of Macy's employees and loss prevention amazed at what these phones can do.

No you don't need to open Google wallet. Just make sure you have a card defaulted on your wallet and when ready to pay make sure your screen is on. It won't work with the screen off. Follow the prompts after your phone vibrates.

I Beamed an app to my cousin on thanksgiving onto his GS3. I haven't been paying enough attention to where I buy stuff to use Wallet yet, but I've been meaning to.

Just used Beam for the first time, really cool and easy to use! I beamed this picture to my wife of our kitten tasting the first Christmas tree she has even seen.
