Default Nexus 4 Mic Issues

Am currently having major issues with my Nexus 4's mic from what I can tell it started last night for some reason (and no I have had ZERO ACCIDENTS WITH THE PHONE).

I'm getting a ton of audio feedback which is preventing people from hearing me. (Made a test video and it literally sounds like a wind tunnel)

Any one else having similar issues?

Default mic not working?

I think I have developed a problem with my Nexus 4. I've had it for over a week now and everything was working until a couple of days ago. When talking on the phone, the person on the other end could not hear me. It happened once or twice but resolved itself on the next call. Today, after updating to 4.2.1 the mic has completely stopped working. The strange thing is that when on speakerphone, I can communicate just fine. Only when listening through the earpiece does the problem occur. I assume I would be talking through the same mic at the bottom of the phone whether I'm on speakerphone or not.

I have also just noticed that the sound is garbled when recording a video. I also am unable to use any type of voice command. But again, when on speakerphone, the other end seems to hear me just fine.

Any help would be appreciated. Would a hard reset fix the issue? Or is it likely a hardware problem?

Contacted Google and they claim to have never heard of this. Im having a replacement sent to me in a week. This better be covered by the warranty.

Glad to see I'm not the only one having these problems.

I'm having those feedback issues as well. Seems strange. It's actually my wife's phone as mine is working just fine. I guess I'll call google and let them know of the issues too.
