Default Improved Dialler on Nexus 4

Hi N00b here,

Please be gentle.

Was wondering if anyone had installed an alternative Dialler to the delivered stock version.

Few improvements I'd suggest:
- Entering a number looks up phone book to bring up possible contacts
- The shortcut keys to be easier to access if at bottom of the screen
(i.e. Keypad, Recent & Most frequently called icons
- Have opccassions when typing in a number the keypad zooms right in

Any views guys?

I have to agree that the stock dialer is pants: it's totally non-intuitive.

For example, the default action when you hit the centre part of an entry in Call History is to give more contact details, last call time and an option to SMS. WTF?? I'm in CALLS: clearly the default I expect when I hit an entry is to CALL it.

Re your suggestion about entering numbers, if you go into the contacts tab, hit search and start typing a number, it will actually list matching contacts .. but that's hardly user friendly.

I had Angel Dialer on an SGS2 once. I think it should do what you want.

The voice search in this phone (and JB in general) is so damn good I never use the dialer anymore.
