Haven't seen anything yet, but I would think lcd. Just a hunch though, no facts to back up that claim.

That's what LG usually does, isn't it?

Never hard an LG phone, trying to remember the past ones

If it's LG its definitely LCD(IPS) screen. I would welcome it too. My Galaxy Nexus which uses amoled, is really showing its age.

It is indeed confusing. I guess we're left to speculate and wait for the next leak.

Reminds me of the good ole days of the Galaxy Nexus speculations/etc. Except back then I knew VZW would get one.

That's exactly what goes through my mind as well.
It's also a big slap in the face to Verizon customers that it seems Sprint might get this one after not getting the 4.

Yeah, so much for the "CDMA is the reason for no Nexus" for the Nexus4. At the time, it was probably more because the Nexus4 didn't have LTE and they didn't have a CDMA+GSM solution I guess?

I really hope I'm wrong and the Nexus5 comes to Verizon, but it sure doesn't seem like it'll happen.

Yeah, I'm not counting on it. It was really shocked to find that it supports Sprint tbh. I thought they were going to get screwed yet again. I'm not ruling out the possibility of their being two Nexus 5 models, just like there was 3 Gnex models. One for Sprint, and an unlocked GSM one. I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around how updates are going to pan out if there's only one model and Sprint is a player in all of this.

I'm really liking what I see so far about the Nexus 5 being made by LG, with 5" 1080p screen and Snapdragon 800. I do hope that the battery is replaceable somehow just so that when it fails down the road I can put a new one in there. I also hope that it will be available in white right off the bat, but if not, I'll buy the black one and be happy with that.

What if this is a decoy? Something is fishy here. Seems like this is a trend here lately. They have kept this under wraps using the whole Key lime pie name. They're slipping up too easy now. Seems like this has been the plan all along. What do you guys/gals think?

It would be nice to have a great camera, but it's going to take some major improvement to the stock camera app as well. However, I keep hearing about all these potential high end parts and am beginning to wonder if that predicted $350 still seems possible.

Different companies.

Google kept kitkat unknown since last December. Theyre "oops" was the video showing it. That may have been intentional to start all of the hype.

The FCC filings and photos are from LG. You can't fake an FCC filing, and I'd imagine purposely putting false pictures in one would likely land someone in hot water. The photos are not for the phone that it was filed with. Someone screwed up.

In the end, a very small group of people knew about the kit Kat name. That's easy to keep under wraps. Now were talking about multiple companies producing a product. If you look at all of the phone leaks from most major companies before a flagship announcement this isnt all too strange.

It comes down to more people having the information, and they're more likely to share it or leak it (intentional or not)

Understandable. I still like to think they are up to something lol. I guess I just want to think they may have a special surprise like the whole name change. I liked either name. Both taste good. I guess we will all know soon.

In a small way... I hope it will be priced higher
I purposely bought the N4 before they either ran out or the price was definitely higher than the N4 pricing point...
but that's just the selfish side talking; so I can be validated in buying the N4

But deep down, I hours the price is comparable to the $350 pricing point. Although, with trends regarding larger internal storage, I'd guess price will be set above $350....
But as we all know that's just a guess. The truth will come soon

If the N5 is like the G2, I will be getting it for sure! The only thing stopping me from getting the G2 is the price. I just can't justify paying almost the same price as what I paid for my tv. It's just not going to happen.

Another rumor, this about an oct 14 release.

Nexus 5, Android KitKat debut on Oct. 14 sounds sweet but require grains of salt | News | TechRadar

Not sure if anyone has seen this render by Vovicon over on Reddit. It looks amazing!

Vivicon got that render very close. The camera looks a lot better in the rendering.

They need to get a photographer over to the FCC A.S.A.P.

From what I can, and what do I know really, is that the back doesn't look nearly as glossy as the Nexus 4. That would lead me to believe it's not a glass rear panel, it looks more like rubber or plastic. Though I could be way off.

That would be great to see the rubber type. I like to grip my phone.

Keep in mind many times these photos aren't the actual backing of the device. Preproduction runs

I don't think LG would go glass again, but its entirely possible.

The pictures aren't necessarily evidence one way or the other.

I ended up going with the G2. If they are similar, you guys are going to be very happy. If i could add an unlockable bootloader to this thing, itd be the ideal phone. And thats exactly what the N5 will be.

Yes and yes. Its an amazing phone. Finally some awesome battery life too. If they run the 3000 mAh in the N5, it should last forever. The LG skin seems fairly resource intensive and it still does great. Imagine it on aosp. Im thinking 2 day battery life easy with moderate usage.

Yeah I played with the G2 last Friday and woooooow...that screen is gorgeous!! Probably the best screen I've seen to date. The bezels are so small. Can't wait for the next Nexus.
