You can install the New Google launcher Download and install the new Google Experience Launcher

Rumors of Google making a launcher to give users the experience as an app...

It doesn't actually work properly, whenever you try to do a Google Search, it crashes but still completes the search in the background. It's strange.

Did you install the other 3 core apps that it probably needs in the provided link I posted?

I haven't seen any hard numbers, but based on prior AOSP devices you can probably expect 13-14

Long press the home screen, select Settings. Select Voice. Select Language to change the default. Change to another language, Like English - UK. Hit Home. Do a Google Search. Repeat & change it back to English - US. Fix.. sort of. You'll get results, but it crashes afterwards.

I chose 2-day shipping. It says "ships by November 5", so maybe even sooner
We must have been ordering in tandem, my order is _exactly_ like yours. Only exception, you were 8 seconds ahead of me. I've always been slow

It's funny because Google just updated those apps in the Play Store anyways so. No need for the apk. Works properly now.

It was mentioned earlier to provide details and I've been away from a computer since it shipped, my apologies...

I ordered the 16GB white with the 2 day shipping option - after I saw the difference in 2 day verses the longer, I laughed and picked the 2 day. My order was right at the time it went live (order says Oct 31, 2013 1:03:36 PM CDT) and it shipped at 4:54pm CST). The order status still says "Ships by November 5th, 2013" but the email is all about how the order shipped and gave me a tracking number and everything.

Hopefully many many many others have gotten their shipping emails!

I also must say that I came to AF long ago for support on what I liked to call my "pebble" phone the LG Motion 4G. That little bastard, for how cheap it was, was the single hardest thing to unlock/root and find an even usable rom for. I was spoiled leaving the GNex even though I had one through Verizon. Anyway, moving on. The support on these pages is amazing and I hate to gush but from there I went to the S3 support for the Metro CDMA pages. FINALLY got a user name and posted.

Here's the kicker, I had been lurking on XDA during this whole N5 craze and it was like a loony bin over there. So came over here for some sense of mature, rational and quite enjoyable discourse while we all went tried to suppress the utter insanity that is waiting for Google to release this ******* thing. I felt like a kid waiting for Christmas morning every night for the past two months. I'm going to have to explain to my boss why I refreshed the Google Play (and AF) website about 300 times today.

SO, my point... You all rock. Thank you for contributing to what has consistently proven to be an ace android community.

Anyone planning on using it on AIO Wireless? I just got the 32GB White, currently using TMobile but would like to go with ATT's new AIO wireless.

I didn't either but it's alright. It'll be here in a few days. Maybe less. When you order anything it takes time to catch up with the status sometimes. Also, after all the waiting everyone has done after countless rumors, we finally purchased one of our own

It's actually cheaper on the UK Carphone Warehouse site 16GB is 295 vs 299 + shipping on Google Play!

Finally got my shipping notice at 5am this morning (I ordered pretty shortly after it went live). Can't wait until the tracking number actually produces data at UPS. I'm guessing maybe Wed if all goes well (3-5 Day shipping) but maybe have to wait for end of week. Boy, I wish I had noticed the choice of shipping.

I'm still waiting for my shipping information. I ordered around 3:45 PM EST - waay too late. I was out of the office for the first half of the afternoon. I'm kind of thinking that I'll get it around the middle of next week.

BTW, as far as free space goes, there have been some problems with the Nexus 7 slowing down if you leave too little space free on it. I don't know whether or not this problem has been fixed but we have the 32GB so I don't expect any problems.

BTW, as far as free space goes, there have been some problems with the Nexus 7 slowing down if you leave too little space free on it. I don't know whether or not this problem has been fixed but we have the 32GB so I don't expect any problems.
That should have gotten corrected in 4.3

Those of us who got a shipping confirmation this morning (11/1) Do they still ship on Saturdays so we can hopefully see it Monday or Tuesday you think?

Very anxious for some LTE connectivity! and Kit-Kat karate like dancing action when I get it!

EDIT: Email received at 11:41pm CT

If I remember rightly it was a problem in the way Android 4.2 handled deleted data which in essence didn't leave the space as freely available. As Rxpert83 said 4.3 fixed it.

That's good to know.

I really should have went with the 32 GB Nexus 7 (actually I don't know if they offered that the first year). I don't even have my music on the Nexus 7 as there isn't enough space on it. I absolutely love the tablet though - I use it a lot for workouts.

Just checking out the specs on the Nexus 5 vs Nexus 4. The 1920x1200 is a lot nicer on the 5 - I didn't realize that it was so low on the Nexus 4. I looked up directions on hooking it up to an HD display for use as a PC and it can be done!

It wasn't available at launch, but when they released the Nexus 4 last year, they got rid of the 8GB variant, cut the price of the 16GB variant, and added a 32GB WiFi and 32GB mobile data variant.

I received my shipping email at 12:50 AM EST, tracking number still doesn't exist in UPS's system though..

As for a case, I definitely want to get one but am going to wait until I have the phone in hand to see what kind I might want. I'm stuck using my Verizon Galaxy Nexus until Dec 15 when my contract runs out so I'll only be using the Nexus 5 on wifi until then.

I also want to pick up a wireless charger (I started a thread about this) at some point to put on my nightstand.

If I recall correctly you ordered yours well after I ordered mine and mine hasn't shipped. Their shipping ordering/priority is mind boggling.

Ouch!

Mine was $408.99 for the 32 GB model. We don't do taxes in NH.

Still waiting for shipping notice though.

For Missouri:

Nexus 5 (16GB, Black) $349.00
Shipping (3-5 business days): $9.99
Tax: $27.31
Total: $386.30

Not sure why they charge taxes. I thought they had to have a retail store in that state in order to charge the state tax. Oh well.

5 minutes after me. I wonder if the amount you purchased has anything to do with it. I'm in PA.

They are only required to charge state tax if they have a physical presence in the state. Of course this varies from state to state. Many online retailers are collecting tax anyway just because it is the right thing to do as we all know individuals aren't paying it themselves.
