No clue, but I've read on engadget that Google was to make them available at the Nexus 5 launch day but they've mysteriously vanished.

I expect them at the same time both cases are to be sold.

I've never owned an android phone so forgive my ignorance.

I'm wondering if anyone knows who makes the best cases with fan designs (such as the ones you find for iPhone on Redbubble or Threadless.) The only sad part about my migration is giving up my Doctor Who and Buffy nerdy cases.

Is there a site that had these types of designs available for the Nexus 4 that might soon offer them for the 5?

Thanks!

actually, there is a case with a clear back that you can print anything you want and have it as the design. Amazon.com: [AIR CUSHION] SPIGEN Google Nexus 5 Case ULTRA HYBRID [Black] Bumper Case with Anti-Scratch Clear Back Panel + [1 FREE Premium Japanese Screen Protector & 2 FREE Graphics] for Nexus 5 - ECO-Friendly Package - Black (SGP10609): Cell Phones

I ordered it but it hasn't come yet.

Thanks to you & shelliewnj.

I too would ultimately prefer a professional look, but for this price, I'm happy with a slightly more home-made style for now. I really enjoy having my nerdy loves on my cases.

I like The idea of being able to switch it out and not have to pay for a separate case

Qi wireless car dock I purchased is truly a good dock and go option. Doesnt' charge any slower than plugging in directly to my Note 3

It seems most folks are buying the Spigen protective case. Why are the ones that's linked to Amazon, not on Spigen's own website?

In most cases (no pun intended), they are cheaper on Amazon.

I don't know how I forgot that I need an armband for running. There are only a couple on Amazon. I think I'm going to order this one. Anyone got any thoughts on an armband?

That looks good. I'd put the phone on the inside of my arm. I've had a weird few years of either falling down or getting knocked over.

I'm a runner and use to wear some type of arm band. However, I run with a light weight runners fanny pack now.

Set my music and running app and I'm ready to go.

That's what I used too when I went bike riding. Unfortunately my bicycle is in storage.

Haven't tried it for running? I'll never use an arm band again. Fanny pack is so much more convenient.

I'm a beginner and sadly, still have a bit of belly and things around my waist just aren't terribly comfortable. I've used an armband for years when doing yard work and such and never had a problem. Though, the iPhone is considerably smaller than a N5. Maybe I'll hate the feeling with a N5. We'll see.

Ya, phone size is an issue too. Can't imagine running with a phone of the N5 on my arm.

Update how it goes though. I'm always interested in running accessories.

That case looks nice for running. I might get it. I ran last night with my N5 in a baggy pocket of my cargo shorts and it was just fine. It didn't seem to be in any danger of popping out. I suspect the pocket of my sweat pants would be just a good. I hate stuff around my wait too.

Just for the heck of it, that's the belt I've been using with my GS3. Doesn't bounce around the waist or anything.

Seidio is coming out with a Dilex case for the N5...Pics unavailable, but if it's like the N4 Dilex, it ought to be good..
SEIDIO | LG Google Nexus 5
Also saw these, not sure about them though :
Cruzerlite Spi-Force Case for Nexus 5 - Nexus 5 - LG - Cases

One thing I wish the big boys would do, at this early stage, is announce if they are even developing for our phone...That way I can plan ahead......
I already have have the Qi charger getting here ahead of the phone!

I purchased this one as well. How do you like it.

Just got mine. the caseology is sharper with Burgandy leather back, but spigen ultra hybrid is quite nice once I get a decent back-pic.
Both will charge on Nokia DT900 wireless charger.

haha the photo is the one that came with the case. anyway, so far it stood up better than i thought it would. it feels really flimsy, but holds up better than it looks.

No otterbox? Seriously? Wow. Either it doesn't need one or nexus users have a history of not buying them? I'm gonna go with it doesn't need one cuz that was gonna be my next purchase

I looked at the Otterbox website this week and saw they didn't have a case for the N4, so I figured I wouldn't wait around for one for the N5...I see that was a wise decision. :-)

I imagine if you never drop it, it'll never need it
Seriously, *I* need one...I imagine they looked at the $$ side of it....
How many N5's will there be in the first 6 months, and what % of those WILL buy an otterbox offering....financially unfeasible I imagine..

But I do wonder how physically different our phones will be from an LG G2....

hmmmmm

Default Cheap QI Charger

Just received my first QI charger from Amazon. It is branded "Metrans" and called a "Super mini".
It only cost £20 in Europe and works fine with my N5.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DU8XZZQ/ref=s9_simh_gw_p23_d3_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf _rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1XDH1EK2X1JD2V8BRECA&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p =430153987&pf_rd_i=468294
US Amazon $35 US:
Amazon.com: Metrans Mwt03 Qi Certified Super Mini Design Wireless Power Charger for Nokia 920/820, HTC 8x, Google Nexus 4 (Black): Cell Phones & Accessories
I haven't had it for long, so can't comment on heat or speed yet. It is black, circular and rather small, with a diameter about half the length of the N5 (so just less than the width, box says 60mm x 11.8mm).
There is a blue LED that blinks during charging, and for a couple of other alerts. I will upload a photo shortly but so far, so good!

Default The Official Accessory Thread - amCase Hybrid Bumper Case

I was looking through cases and found on Amazon that I really recommend. Poetic makes nice cases, but the prices usually are not that great. If you are looking for a bargain and great protection for your new Nexus 5 I recommend the amCase Hybrid Bumper Case. It offers the nice thick edges of a bumper, but also the coverage and protection of the full case back. I got one this weekend and expected it to be a flimsy product since it was such a good deal, but it has surprised me and I am liking it so far.

Just my opinion though, to each his own! I hope this helps someone make up their mind on a case.

So, it FINALLY arrived today, and works much better.

As I expected, the "premium" screen protector was cheap and doesnt have cutouts for the front camera or sensors, but I suppose its better than nothing ... so its on there.

I am using a cheap TPU case ( I love the one on my EVO 3D), Wireless Qi charger and a SPIGEN SGP Crystal screen protector.

I just ordered myself one of THESE. For $15 shipped, I figured I couldn't go wrong. Yeah yeah, the cloud. I just have a thing for physical storage.
