I got a white 32gb, and really want a black slim cover, but I'm really worried about the black cover rubbing off on the white back.

I'm going to wait on buying a case until I can get some more info

So is this actually worth it? I mean, it does have Gorilla Glass 3.

Gorilla glass can and will scratch. Silica sand is a phone's worst nightmare in terms of scratches. It will scratch any Gorilla glass you can find. I've also heard horror stories of buttons on jeans scratching it. I haven't had any issues with my N4 getting scratched but I baby my phones. I don't put ANYTHING in the same pocket as the phone and use my left pocket to avoid all rivets/buttons on jeans.

Hmmmm there's so many selections of cases I want. On top of the list is the Neo Hybrid case from Spigen. Cruzerlite is another choice. I'm currently using one for my Galaxy Nexus. Love it. I'm really digging those cases from the play store. I love the fact they have the Nexus logo on the back.....desicions decisions. I will get those Spigen screen protectors though.

I am just about to pull the trigger on this one on Amazon. Torn between this one and the Slim Armor, but I kinda like how this one looks a little better so I think I'm going to go with it.

Decisions, decisions.

I'm hopefully ordering my Nexus 5 this afternoon.
Need to knock with are there any cases that have a lip on the front, so it helps protect the screen if it's dropped.

I heartily second this. My LG Esteem survived tons of drops because the Trident case it was in had almost a 3/16ths inch lip. The last thing I want is it landing on a pebble and breaking the screen.

So is the less expensive Steinheil ones too? I do want a screen protector but don't want to spend all too much.

Same here. I think the 15.99 protectors will be fine. That's the one I'm getting.

I modified the OP to include SPIGEN SGP's cases. I ordered both the Ultra Hybrid and the Slim Armor. I personally love the Slim Armor with my SGS4, but I thought the Ultra Hybrid deserved some love too. SPIGEN FTW.

SPIGEN sells a car charger adapter that just requires you having your own microUSB cable to charge the device.

I was thinking how cool it would be to have a car dock that used the wireless charging feature. I Googled it and came across this:

http://www.amazon.com/Docooler-Wireless-Charger-Transmitter-Charging/dp/B00F857E8I/ref=pd_sim_sbs_cps_1

No idea if it's any good or not, but I might jump in and get one. I could retire my gps with this.

I read that many wireless chargers don't work when the phone has a case on.

While I was looking around on Amazon, I noticed most of them listed a distance for the wireless charging. Some were 5mm, while others were 8mm. Since most cases are less thick than that, I would think you'd be ok. I had asked this very question in another thread last week and a few folks chimed in that their Nexus 4 had indeed charged with a case on.

That looks awesome, I might need to pick myself up one of those. Also added to the main list.

It completely depends on the case. The thickness and the material will make it vary case to case.

I want to get this screen protector but it looks like there's only a cutout for the speaker and not for the camera. Anyone who has bought from Spigen can confirm?

Since you guys can take advantage of wireless charging as well, just wanted to share with you the Qi wireless car dock/charger that I purchased for my Note 3:

Amazon.com: Qi Wireless Car Charger Pad Charging Transmitter For Nokia LG SAMSUNG S3 S4 NOTE: Cell Phones & Accessories

Similar form factor to the one posted by jhawkkw earlier. I still haven't received my Qi receiver for the Note 3, but I plan on updating my experience with the charging dock, once I have that in. So far, it's been fine just plugging in the microUSB through the bottom portion of the holder.

Any update on this? I ask because I bought the same protector and noticed how google's own plastic packaging has the slits cut out of it for the correct areas.

I ordered the Spigen case from Amazon: [AIR CUSHION] SPIGEN Google Nexus 5 Case ULTRA HYBRID [Black] Bumper Case with Anti-Scratch Clear Back Panel + [1 FREE Premium Japanese Screen Protector & 2 FREE Graphics] for Nexus 5 - ECO-Friendly Package - Black (SGP10609):Amazon:Cell Phones & Acc

It is not getting great reviews. It hasn't arrived yet. I hope it doesn't suck.

The reviews seem to be more about the screen protector that comes with the case than the case itself. I almost never rely on the reviews anymore. I'll buy it and if I don't like it, return it.

I'm having issues with my spigen slimarmor.

It hugs the device so tight it holds the power button down and reboots it. Haven't hit the sweet spot yet where it works

Looking for an industrial dual layer case..I suppose like an otterbox defender?

I have a CaseMate tough case on my Gnex, with a spigen protector...
I work in a harsh industrial enviroment so I need some protection.

I dont care much about bulk, I want good drop protection....

well, I got this in the mail tonight: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FZ14E3S/ref=pe_385040_30332190_TE_3p_M3T1_ST1_dp_1

It's okay and will work but I'm worried about it flexing off the phone when I'm pulling the N5 out of my pocket. It's smooth and somewhat snug but has so much traction that it doesn't slide against fabric very well. I was looking for something a little more firm but I like it so far. You can also turn the phone upside down with just enough lip that there is no worry of the screen ever touching the surface.

Amazon.com: [AIR CUSHION] Spigen Google Nexus 5 Case Slim [Slim Armor] [Infinity White] Air Cushioned Protective Case with Dual Layer for Nexus 5 - Infinity White (SGP10565)

I have been using this case for a day now and I'm impressed. The fitment is perfect and I love the color combo. The buttons for volume and power work great, they are really easy to press and are responsive. The cut outs for speakers, USB and headphone are perfect. The case is a little more white than the phone and has a mat finish similar to the white Nexus. Sorry for all the lint of the phone.

That's the same one I got. How'd you get the phone in without the power button being pressed down? Really like the look and feel of the case, the power button issue is just a pain. I've finally got it in the case where I can use it now, but every once in a while its offset again and will reboot

Got an email from Spigen, they're sending me a replacement case and a free "premium" screen protector.

Hopefully this solves the issues. I'll report back when it arrives.

For everyone that wanted to know, the screen protector with the ultra hybrid case DOES NOT have the cut out for FFC. It only has one cut out for the speaker.

Anyone try the cases that are for sale on the Google Play site right where the N5 is sold?

Too much $ for my tastes.

Even that said, do you like it? I want one that does the dry application only and leaves no residue at all.

It does the job. That is for sure. All of SPIGEN's protection applications are dry, btw.

Cool! So it doesn't affect the camera at all?

I just bought the SPIGEN Silver Neo Hybrid Case. It looks good in pics so hopefully it's the same way in person and hopefully the fit is good.

Truthfully, I didn't leave it on long enough to find out. I only applied it because it came with the product, but took it off because I'm not a fan of screen protectors.

I got this case Monday (slate metal color) and have had it on the N5 since it showed up. It's a nice fit, and the buttons have an awesome feel to them. Took me a minute to get it on, but eventually got it. The TPU back seems to me to be less "grippy" than the back of the phone, but I'm going to keep it for now.

I have had an Otterbox Commuter on my RAZR Maxx since I bought it, and while it adds some bulk, it has saved my phone from two really bad drops on the pavement (one face down). I'm not so sure this case would provide the same level of protection as the Otterbox as it's definitely lighter and thinner.

That sucks. I did not have any problems with the case. I can take my phone in and out with out the power button getting stuck at all. Hopefully the replacement case is better for you.

Amazon.com: Aduro U-GRIP PLUS Universal Dashboard Windshield Car Mount for Smart Phones

I really like this mount I have been using it for a while now. It holds the phone really securely. You can just twist the phone to set it to portrait or landscape modes. It is easy to take the phone in and out. The suction cup is very strong and does not loosen. Best of all it is very low profile and looks good, I cant stand those large bulky mounts.

Also fits with a
Spigen Slim Armor case

Nokia DT-900 Wireless Charging Plate - Retail Packaging - Black

Great charger. Works with or with out a case on the phone. It does not matter what angle you have the phone at, it will still charge.

Works at weird angles

Works even with large cases

Thanks to s2k....
ATT Store does have the DT900 Nokia Charging Plate for $24.99. That is 50% off regular price.
I tried it with the Otterbox Commuter rubber membrane on my Nexus 5. IT CHARGED.
I then put the membrane on the charger and put the phone in into the hard Commuter case....IT CHARGED.

So if it can charge through Otterbox Commuter case +++++

This is a good deal for a working accessory for Nexus 5.
