Default Auto-Adjusting Screen Brightness

Is anyone else experiencing auto-adjusting screen brightness? I wondered if there was perhaps a light sensor that was auto adjusting the brightness of my screen but I'm not moving, I'm sitting in one spot in my house, the lighting is not being adjusted and I'm simply reading a webpage on my N5 and the screen will get dimmer for a few seconds and then get brighter again. Very gently but it's there.

ETA: Oh, I see there is a "auto" option for brightness. I'm going to turn that off and see if that solves it. Please excuse my newbie-ness.

Mine did the same thing. I turned off the auto and that fixed that :-)

And for the record, the sensor is in the upper right of the phone. You can see it in the proper lighting.
