Default No live feature on the Android version of Itv app?

I was attempting to show off my new nexus 5 today and failed when a colleagues iPhone could play live TV from the Itv app and my Android version of the app doesn't have live.

Anyone know why?

It's probably simply that they haven't added the feature to the Android app yet.

It could also be they're having issues getting Androids to play HLS. Although most modern Androids are supposed to support HLS, in reality HLS playback is very flaky.

Just install tvcatchup from the playstore and watch the free view channels live instead.

If you failed to show off your N5 to an iPhone user because of the ITV app then you are doing it wrong!
Same apps across platforms have different features, in some cases Android may have more.
Like Omar Days said, give TV Catchup a look.
