Default Game Stop Now Taking Pre-Orders

Google Nexus 7 16GB for Android | GameStop

Glad I ordered mine early. This might turn into another Galaxy S3 like shortage.

Interesting that they have it posted before the big box stores. And I really hope that this doesn't turn into a huge backlog of back-orders

Yeah I thought Best Buy or Walmart would have it first. Maybe they can't make any money if Google is selling it at cost.

How different is it than Apple hardware sales? I could see them carrying the 16GB model only, since at $50 more than the 8GB model, there's quite a bit of margin in there. They can also not do the $25 Google Play credit, and make normal retail markup on accessories. Should be lucrative all around.

If Google was smart, they'd introduce a bluetooth headset that has glowing lights on it like the Nexus Q for the clueless posers that use Beats headphones.

I guess that availability may be an issue, if you're aiming to get one immediately upon release.
