I basically told myself the same thing, if Verizon doesn't get the next Nexus (and quite frankly they don't deserve it), I will be looking at quad-core HTC devices by that time.

Default official reply from google to my ship date inquiry

Note I received from Google:

Quote:
Once you place an order, charges generally post to your credit/debit card within a few days. Though you'll immediately see an authorization for the hold of funds for your purchase, the charge won't be applied until your item has shipped.

Check your receipt in the Purchase History section of your account to see if your card has been charged or the exact date your credit/debit card was charged for your purchase.

Preorders will begin shipping in mid-July, though at this time I’m unable to provide a specific date for your individual order.

Once your order has shipped, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email and tracking number that will assist you in determining your package's estimated delivery date.

Regards,

Eric The Google Play Team
My card has been charged.

Best Buy and Future Shops Canada have both posted Pre-Orders, both providing a date of July 10th

It's not July 10th...it's AUGUST 10th on their website.

Alright guys here's what I'm thinking. If Staples and Best Buy, and I'm talking US, not Canada, list that their getting their stock on the 10th and shipping by the 13th, that means we'll likely get ours on the 10th, because they're receiving their shipment straight from Google/Asus, and if we ordered from the Play Store, so are we. If you ordered from a retailer, there's a "middle man" which will likely delay it a few days. So based on that delay, and based on the dates given by the US retailers (if those are even right), then I'd say it's a good chance ours will arrive tomorrow or the day after. Chances are that I'm completely wrong but that's just what I'm thinking (and hoping deep down inside )

One thing is certain.
It'll get there when it gets there.

I'm looking forward to getting one too, but I didn't order until 7/7, so I'll try to find something to occupy myself with until mine arrives.
In my case it will be checking out a Toshiba Excite 10 AT305, which seems to be getting very little attention by comparison, but will arrive in the next day or two.

So I just had my own chat with customer services. I think I said in the other thread, but my stored address in google wallet was wrong; it looked like I had entered it on my phone and auto correct had screwed it up. I did eamil them on the day I ordered, but there was no response.

He said that the only way to fix it would be to order it again and cancel my current order. I asked him if that would mess up my place within the queue, but he told me that they havent split things up by order date, which I intepereted as meaning there are more than enough devices for the current pre-orders.

Then he asked when I placed my order and I told him it was on the 27th. Apparently he couldn't cancel any orders from before the 1st. He then said he would have to pass on my issue to someone else who would 'intercept' the package before it left, so I guess they really are getting close.

I'll be checking email every 30 seconds today.

So do you have to cancel and reorder?

Yeah. What's more annoying is that he said they might not be able to confirm the cancelation for up to four days from now. So now I'm debating on whether I should wait before reordering.

If they don't manage to intercept it and I'm charged for both, I could refuse the delivery and get a refund on whichever arrives second, but it's needless hassle.

Here's where I have to give it to Apple again. Any time they announce a device it's almost always got a solid ship date. People should not be allowed to announce stuff with a ship date of "soon".

I ordered mine on the 28th and am just curious as to the status of people's order.

In Play it says 'Complete', which it has done since purchase. In Wallet it says, 'Your order has been sent to Google Commerce Ltd.'

Is this the same for everyone, bit weird that it says complete.

FYI, I live in the UK.

+1 - they also have decent support! (Cannot believe I'm praising that bloody company!)

Really annoying me not knowing what's going on with my order, as I've had to switch cards on the Wallet account, so not sure if they'll be smart enough to charge the other card.

All I've been told is to wait and see :\

Anyone know if there'll still be a 2-3 week wait should I have to cancel and re-order?

I sure hope not

Judging by what the support guy said to me, as I mentioned above, you'll end up at the bottom of the pile for your order being processed and shipped. But you won't be waiting 2-3 weeks as the tablets will have been produced.

i think they will start shipping this wednesday. google said at i/o it would be 2-3 weeks, this wednesday will be 2 weeks to the day. staples also mentioned the 12-19 which follows the 2-3 week time frame google mentioned.

hopefully i am wrong and they ship today, but i have a feeling wednesday is the day.

Same here.
I feel like I'm "stepping up" and finally getting into some "real" hardware and a better user experience by getting a Nexus...anything.

I've had my share of heartaches playing with a couple of cheap Chinese tablets and thought merely switching to a name-branded one would do the trick.
My A500 from Acer has been okay, but the performance is only so-so, and the ICS update has left it buggy. That and the 10-inch form factor means that it usually stays at home.

I'm hoping that with a little work getting it connected to my home server for media that the Nexus 7 will become a TRUE daily driver for me.

No charges to my CC yet. In the past though, I've never really looked at my CC for a sign that things are shipping from Google. No. I'm jumping every single time I get a notification on my phone hoping it is the shipping/final charge email.

So far, I'm just disappointed because it is all friends just texting. I think they're messing with me on purpose.

Don't give up yet. My shipping email for my GNex dock pinged through at some ungodly hour in the middle of the night. I think I ordered it on the 30th of May, got the email very, very early in the AM on the 31st and if I remember right, had the dock in hand on the 1st of June. I ordered my GNex on the 24th of April, got the shipping email just after midinght (so early on the 25th) and had the item in hand the 26th if I remember right. So it seems the shipping emails go out pretty late but by the time you see it, the device is already on its journey.

Jellybean is now AOSP, and though it may seem unrelated to some, I see this is as a strong hint that our N7s will be arriving soon, as they were both due in "mid-July"

That's equally exciting for the fact that now custom rom devs have the Jellybean source to work with

Tongue Checked my credit card account today

And it's showing PENDING charges with today's date (7/9/12) for the N7 that I ordered on July 1.

Could it mean...

Pending charges appear as soon as you place an order. What you want to look out for is when the charge actually goes through.

Buzz-kill! LOL

That's what I thought, but before today, there were no pending charges on the account.

Just trying to get some positive mojo going here.

Took a peek at the xda thread that has the same function as this one...someone asked a Staples rep who said Google is shipping the 12th...now what that doesn't tell us is whether that means they're shipping it earlier to customers and that's the retailer date (which, imo would make sense since they would want those who got it directly from them receiving it first) or if that's the date they send out all shipments, which would mean the 13th the earliest but most likely the 15th-18th. So the way I see it folks, if we don't get it by or on the 12th, those will be the dates we're looking at.

Sorry, must have been a typo. I meant to say that they're probably shipping it out of the door as we speak

Where did you get the BB info? I cannot even find it for sale through them. I wanted to get it from them so that I can use my card and get the 6 month interest free financing.

Ordered June 29th... My pending charge is still missing
It was there for a few days, then went away - and it's still not back

Keep an eye on that. I had to switch cards as well, and couldn't figure out how to cancel two previous orders. Meaning Google thought I wanted to buy six tablets. I got a call from my c.c. who thought it might be fraud. I spent some time on the phone with Google and everything worked out in the end. But I say, Google Wallet really needs to add a "cancel" button.
