Default Anyone have Google confirm a replacement for a faulty unit in writing?

I spoken to Google Sunday morning here in the UK and the operator immediately offered a replacement for the raised screen issue and passed it of to a 'specialist' who was going to get in touch to arrange.

The email confirmation message (see below) made no mention of a replacement just that someone would be in touch. Not a cheep so far and I wonder if I'm being fobbed off?

'Thank you for contacting Google. It was a pleasure getting to speak with
you today. As promised, I've forwarded your case to a specialist to begin
working to resolve your issue as soon as possible.

In the meantime, if you come across any other information that you'd like
to pass along, please feel free to reply to this email. Your responses
will automatically go to the specialist working on your case.'

Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

i got an email from them today with an RMA number attached. but they want me to put up the money for a new nexus (199) to cover the cost of the replacement while they check that mine is indeed faulty. (left side of the screen sticking up and creaking when pressed).
if you do let them secure the money on your card it seems they send a new one to you and a postage sticker for your return. you then get 21 days to return your nexus (via UPS) or forfeit your money. once they have it they inspect it and if they agree that faulty then they release the money on your card. otherwise you now own two nexus 7's

sorry Google but i don't have 200 spare in my bank account right now while you check to see if i'm lying

Hmmm. That's a bit cheeky. If there are any tricks once mine is back they can have them all back and I will recover the cash from my card provider. Not overly impressed with Google I have to say.

Had the email now too. I will go with the flow and see what happens. Hopefully it will be a smooth replacement process.
