Default logitech k400 not working without disabling

I just got the Logitech k400 keyboard for the nexus 7, yet although it works on the nexus as far as typing and pointing, the Google keyboard is not access able, whereas using my k500 keyboard and mouse, they both work AND so does the nexus Google keyboard. As a result , unless I hear from you folk otherwise regarding the 400 working and the virtual Google keyboard, I am returning it and will use the 500.

Actually, I was wrong as the 500 also will disable the virtual google keyboard BUT I can still pinch the screen to zoom whereas with the k400 I cannot.
