Default Looking for a decent streaming app for my tablet

Ok so I had a old web server I used to stream content to my devices outside of my network and sadly it is dead . But since I don't have the time to redo it I was wondering if there was a server service and app for the nexus 7 tablet to let me stream content from my PC even if I leave from the local network.

hmm interesting question man sadly I don't have a answer. Maybe I can point you in a few different directions to at least do some google fu on maybe you will find something that will work for you.

I have used Splashtop streamer on my home network (say it also works over internet using your gmail login) to remote mange the computers in my house. Works decent enough and is a lot like VLC. I have not used it on the internet yet so I cant comment how the quality in that instance.

Other program I use with my Roku is Plex media server and its pretty in depth I am not sure if you can set it up to work online but I bet you could set it up to at least stream videos from your desktop thought your home network.

Sorry these are not more pin pointed answers to your questions but at least it gives you a starting point.

Funny thing I just found out about plex and setting it up because it's suppose to work outside of a network. So far it's uploading my photos
