Default Customize gmail screen in Nexus 7

I have setup several gmail accounts on my new Nexus 7. I want to remove the label column from both the portrait and landscape views. When in landscape the label view takes up so much space that I can never quite see the entire email (width) when the email message is selected. In portrait view the label column takes up 1/3 the screen. Thanks.

You'll probably have to contact Google and make the suggestions to them. There's a 'Send Feedback' tab in the GMail settings.

Use K9, it looks much better, has a "dark" theme, can add whatever folders you want to display. It is a bit complicated to set-up, but once there, it has better features. Can actually save zip attachments (can't do that in Gmail).
