Default 4.2.1

I heard that 4.2.1 is rolling out to the N4 and N10 to fix the lack of December in events.

Anyone hear anything about the N7 getting it?

Haven't heard anything official yet, but having watched some rollouts to Nexus devices in the past they seem to go to the newest first, then work their way back through generations.

I received the update for my Nexus 7 about 10 minutes ago when I "checked for updates". I'm in the Chicago area.

On another forum saw other people were starting to receive theirs as well.

Neat, I'll have to check when I get home. If I don't put Christmas on my calendar how will I ever tell it's the Holidays.

I just got an update that describes itself as Android 4.2, but I'm already running 4.2. Maybe this is really 4.2.1? I guess I'll click install and see what happens - there are always system images available to revert to :-).

...

Yep, did the install, and in settings it says it is 4.2.1 build JOP40D.

Its a VERY incremental update. Nothing to worry about if you dont have it yet

Basically fixes the calendar issue and thats about it

Updates are still fun! Even little ones. Going to have to enjoy them as my phone won't be getting them that fast anymore.

It's nice that they fixed the calendar issue, but I hope there's so under the hood fixes that helps people that have lag or instability.

Yeah, didn't notice anything different, had it waiting on my device last night. Was also the fastest update ever. Was done in like two minutes.

Doesn't show any reference to the December date thing.
Seem N7 wasn't affected by the date issue to begin with?

I assumed it was this one: "(a.k.a. Santa is back)" but didn't follow any links.

got the update yesterday in Japan on my N7 16GBs and yes the size was 1.1 MB and initially it said update 4.2 but later it was changer to 4.2.1
if some people arent getting the update yet i learned a quick fix..
got to all apps on the tablet from settings and look for google services framework, clear cache and force stop it and then exit setting and check for updates again, at the update screen your device should say the date is 1970.. thats normal.. check for update and you should get yours within seconds.
altho the update is 1.1MB but it took around 5 mins of installation, anyhow its good to be up to date

It does fix the December issue. In the Change-log above I think that's what the phrase "Santa is back" refers to...

I updated my 8GB Nexus 7 to 4.2.1 yesterday and the update appears at first glance to have solved the random reboot problem. I left it on overnight and it actually stayed on the entire time, according to GSam. Unfortunately, it still seems to drain at a faster rate than my 32GB Nexus 7 with 4.1.1.
