Default Nexus 7 HDMI adapter for HDTV

I want to buy my father a Nexus 7, but I need help in determining what HDMI adapter would work so I can connect it to his HDTV. He will be using an app to watch European tv.

Any help is appreciated.

I understand that as I already have one. I was just asking what adapter is available to hook it up to an HDMI port on his TV?

Would Nexus 10 support it?

No, I don't believe it does.

Some of the Samsung Tab's including the Tab 2 10.1 for $299 have HDMI capability. This Tab requires a Samsung adapter which is available from various sources. It has a 16GB internal SD card plus an ext SD card slot for up to a 32 GB SD card.

Yeh it doesn't seem to work. I have a USB -> HDMI which I bought for my Galaxy Nexus.
Plugging it into the nexus 7 crashes the device. Pretty inconsistent and annoying

Yeah, major flaw this but Google were probably thinking that someone would come up with another method to stream HD video from the device.

What is this app where you can watch European TV. Being a European myself, that would interest me. I watch German TV via the browser and TV5, a French station - also via the browser. But such an app may give me more options.

Check out this article at Engadget. It is not exactly an "adapter". It sure looks interesting!
