Default Gmail Issues

Posting this for my wife, I don't use her N7 that much so she asked me a question and I could not find a solution to it so I figured I would post it here. When see reads her Gmail emails from the N7 and then she goes to her laptop the emails are showing as unread. I checked in Gmail on the N7 and it is set up for syncing. I looked in all the setting and I don't see anything to edit to resolve these issues she is having, and FWIW she won't let me root it so that is out of the picture, LOL

This is with the Gmail app by the way, I can always have her use K9 but she is a creature of habbit and does not like change, so figure I check to see if there was a solution first, it might be the Gmail version she is using, as I don't have that issue with my phone.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is a very interesting issue. I use Gmail on all three of my Nexus devices N4, N7, & N10 without a problem. However in what seems to be a coincidence, my wife just called me last night (she's out of town on business) reporting the same thing just started on her N4. Returning next week, I'll be looking at it. If I come up with a resolution I will report back.
