Default Nexus 7 Boot Errors.

My nexus is stuck on Google screen when I turn it on. Can't get into the O.S.
When I try to do a hard reset by pressing the "up and down volume keys and the on button", the options available will say booting failed. Cant plug it in the computer with the device to show on my PC to retrieve files cause it wont turn on. Anyone know a fix?

I would like to ask a couple of questions to see where you currently stand.
1)Is your bootloader unlocked
2)Are you rooted
3)Are you running stock or a custom rom?
4)How comfortable are you with adb.

Given that you can get into the bootloader screen, this device has a 99.9 percent chance of getting fixed. You might lose data depending on where you stand, but I can definitely help you getting it working again.

I didn't do any changes into the OS since i purchased it so not rooted and its stock. I am not very familiar with ADB. I have attached a new pic on what the screen says at the bottom left. It says lock state - locked so im assuming bootloader is locked

Yep, indeed. So you've tried booting into recovery and it failed with the same boot error, correct?

If that is the case, then the only option to fix this is going to be to unlock the bootloader because we can't flash anything while it's locked. However doing so will result in a complete data wipe of the device. There really isn't a way around it.

To do everything, you're going to have to hook it up to a computer. You'll want to configure drivers, unlock the bootloader, and then flash the factory image. This can be done one of two ways. If you have Windows, there is a toolkit called Wug's Nexus Toolkit that makes most of it pretty hands free. However if you have a Mac, it will have to be done manually from the command line terminal.

I am perfectly fine with a complete data wipe. I have tried nexus root tool kit but without success. It is still locked. I would have to re try it again.

Did you configure the drivers for it? Without the drivers set up correctly, the computer won't be able to communicate with the device properly.

Sorry for not responding quicker, been off and on all day. Here's a link to a manual restore that I wrote.
