Try to redownload it. Could be a bad download. I've not run into that. Also make sure your md5 checksum matches what's on the site. There's a app on the store to generate your md5 I think its called something like afv (android file verifyer) and its a alien looking icon. Let me jump on my computer and I'll look it up.
heres the link to AFV. does it still flash or does it error out and fail?

Its looking for an md5 file to confirm the zip its just downloaded isn't corrupt or incomplete. If you download the latest update from get.cm, you can download the file along with the zip. The option isn't there if you use the CM Updater.

I'm not sure I've never flashed paranoid android. You could maybe pull the apk from PA and inject it into the system on CM? When you update with cmupdater it might get overwritten tho...

I copied over settings.apk , paranoid settings and systemui.apk and it force closed on systemui.apk i just flashed over PA to see how it works (remember I'm not a dev by any means) and am checking it out to see what its all about. Still cant find a 3d YouTube tho

i can only go up to 720p on 2.99. the link in the atr is for 2.1. o well youtube still looks better on here
i like PA but i think i still prefer nightlies. im gonna keep it for a few days but im pretty sure im gonna eventually flash back to CM. sometimes a simpler approach is the way to go

So before I download this can someone give me details on what and what doesn't work on here and if it's stable I read around here and still don't know what kernel is best for battery and games

I haven't ran into anything that DOESNT work. If your looking for something more stable (again its in my opinion as stable as it can be / as stable as stock) try out the M release.
I use my tablet mild to moderate and it lasts about 2 days.

Re: [ROM] Cyanogenmod 10.1 nightlies Nexus 7 Grouper and Tilapia
I'll echo what j3ff says, I've not found anything odd and they're as stable as the stock ROM was.
Kernel wise, stock has worked out best for me. I get roughly 5 to 5 1/2 hours of screen on time out of a single charge and I only lose about 3-4% if I leave the tab on overnight.
The metalice kernel might be good for games as the GPU is overclocked slightly. I've not had an issue with the standard CM one though.
i'm currently on CM10.1 M1 release. if i want to swap to the nightlies (because i like the sound of having something new to explore on a regular basis), is it just a matter of updating with a nightly build on what i have or do i have to do a fresh download and all the usual cache wipes. thanks in advance.

The superuser that is installed with cyanogenmod is made by koush. Cyanogen recently integrated his app into the ROM. Superuser Elite by chainsdd is not obsolete but is not necessary when running cyanogenmod.
