After updating, the folders in the row directly above the home button no longer seem accessible. Anyone else having that problem? I'm using Nova launcher so maybe that's part of the problem?
Edit: Nevermind, when I checked Nova Launcher settings there was a new update which gives the problem.

Considering 4.2 just came out, its probably app incompatibilities
Nova's the problem I'm guessing
Also rooted users, there is no system app check in this update, so it should work just fine for us.

So if I turn root keeper on SuperSU I should be able to do the OTA no problem?

I'm not interested in the update YET... I too plan to wait until it is incorporated into PA... however... would someone who has DL'd the update (I'm only on 3g ATM) please be kind enough to post the 4.2 keyboard.apk?
Ugggg... I asumed I could just pull the keyboard from the zip.... but not only is it odexed... (that part I saw coming) but its also in the form of a patch... pita

im on cm nightlies and just need to be patient. im sure cm will update to 4.2 within the next day or so... going crazy waiting for it tho. i got too much stuff on my tablet to justify flashing a stock rom and then updating to 4.2...

If it's any consolation, I don't think it's as good as Swype beta - there's no long press option for numbers and symbols when on the main letters.
I flashed it through the stock rom its cool for the first 10 minutes while you explore everything new but if you have multiple accounts it laggs quite a bit so i wouldnt recommend it that much
Anyone have a copy of the adb files with the sideload command?
Mine is old and dumb... (tried the ones included in the nexus tool kit... And the ones in my current sdk's platform tools) And updating the Android sdk over 3g just isn't going to happen

Hey, can anyone who has made the jump to 4.2 confirm whether or not an option to show the battery percentage appears for the notification bar/drawer now?

can u handle 40 mb it comes with the whole sdk (newest version) and i included the adb sideload command)
PS: i included the Keyboard apk extracted from my nexus 7 just in case yout not ready SDK.rar
Envset.exe is if you want to use adb directly from command prompt without having to "cd" to your platform tools folder

keyboard.apk & odex? Because that was the whole point of this exercise... To update to 4.2, extract the patched keyboard, deodex it and then restore my backup and install the updated keyboard... Well... And to check out 4.2
But at any rate... Tyvm.
(On a side note.... This tab has a terrible data transfer rate, from pc to tab)
No, i didn't say that... I'm dl'ing it now... I'm sure it will work, if not... I'll extract it myself :-)
I just ran into a much more annoying problem... One i copied my backup back to the tab, it won't restore... So now i start from scratch... but i have been looking for an excuse to try aokp anyways so that's what I'm doing... Tyvm for your help.
looks like they changed how the SDCard is done :/ Clockwork is giving me issues... the back ups i did before cant be reached by SSH or Android File Transfer.... this should be fun to fix....

I'll wait for the OTA push. No rush here reading about all the incompatible apps. Hopefully by the time it gets to Texas most of my main apps will be updated to 4.2. Hoping there are no issues with ssLauncher and Xscope Browser.
Yep...got mine. Did the old Google Framework force close trick and it came down instantly (remember to turn off wifi then close the service and then turn wifi back on).
One thing I've noticed is the little animation glitch from the recent apps thing back to home screen. It's going to annoy me for sure.

The box on the upper left side? Mine does that too plus the unlock swipe to Google Now isn't there either.

No, I meant the third button on the toolbar at the bottom. It does now minimise your current app which is cool tho. To get to Google now you have to use the circle under the lock icon.
A quick heads up for those getting errors and red exclamation points during OTA update. Drove me batty. Failure message related to media_profiles.xml
Remember a few months ago when there was a "fix" to this file that ultimately lets you record in 720p. Weeeell if you get this error its because of that edited file. You need to restore to the original file for the OTA update to work. Took me a while scrounging google to find the cause of this issue. So hopefully this saves someone a lot of headache.

Did the Framework trick (didn't need to toggle wifi (never heard that one before)) and got the OTA immediately. No problems. I'm digging the pulldown controls!
The only thing which is bugging me is I used to be able to flick between home screens and that's kind of wonky at the moment. I'm using Nova launcher so it's probably their problem not Google's.

I was doing the framework trick and it wasn't doing anything so while google-ing around I noticed someone said turn wifi off before force closing. Did that and it worked straight away. Must be hit and miss maybe.
If your not getting the update OTA try this.. I got the update first time I tried this but for others it's taken a few attempts.
1. Go to Settings -> Apps -> All
2. Find Google Services Framework.
3. Tap on Force Stop.
4. Select Clear Data.
5. Head back to the Nexus 7’s Settings, go to About, and check for a System Update.
6. If it didn't find update, just repeat everything from 1
