I mean c'mon Google, did you not give thought to what changing partitions to accomodate multi-user functionality would do to your embedded user and apps base?
Does you Nexus 4 PHONE really need multi-user functionality for apps, media etc.?
The functionality already exists out on google playstore, hated it then hate it now.
i was wondering this exact thing... when you get to big games 2gb+ does that mean to have it on two user accounts now the game takes up 4gb+?
I sure hope not. I hope Google made a way to realize that the app is already installed and just use the data from the other user.. But another poster said that there is no shared data, which is stupid.
It should be like Windows, all the stuff I want to share with other users goes into the shared folder. You should be able to select if you want to install a game or app for all users, or just yourself.
If I knew then what I know now I would have passed on 4.2 until things settle down and more of the broken apps are fixed. The crapped-up sdcard partitions are causing lots of problems. (Not "Issues", dammit. These are problems!) Google = fail on this one so far. About as bad as iFruit's map fiasco.
Others have tested the multiuser option and have concluded there is only one instance of an installed app. Secondary users have to go to Play to 'download' the already installed app, but it simply authorizes the user on the app. It does not create a second installation of the app. I think game data is stored separately for each user.

No, I don't like it at all. Unless you need multiuser I can't see that it adds anything of value, and it adds several things that I find annoying. I'm shocked that Google decided to break the simple usability of the notification bar, for basically no purpose since the settings aren't even real toggles.

On mine, airplane, wifi, bluetooth, etc. are genuine toggles. Anything that is just on / off. Brightness, etc. takes me into settings for adjustment slides. I'm using a custom rom that has been gently tweaked in a couple of areas, though. That might be the difference.

I like a few of the ideas of the new updates, the multi-user was added to compete with kindle, it is useful for families that have kids using there parents phone's or tablets, but it was executed poorly, and sooo many of my apps just don't work at all. I was looking on forums before updating and nothing popped up that seemed a negative. I kept getting the update notice, and finally said yes.
Then all of the problems started popping up on the forums!!
I am definitly looking at installing a rom or something, but want to back up my saved game data first
