Unhappy My Nexus 7 Has Build Quality Issues...But is it Enough?

I've had my Nexus 7 for about 2 months now and I seem to be experiencing a couple of build quality issues. The reason I'm stuck is, I don't know if it's enough to return it for a new model. The problem seems to be getting worse too. It's a bad creak on the back of the device. The whole thing now flexes slightly and just pushing with a tiny bit of force on the screen triggers it. It was originally only when the device heated up but now it's practically all the time. I've noticed too, from reading the manual pre-loaded on the N7, it's around the NFC area. My real question to you guys is, is it enough to return it? Even the borders creak now and I just simply am not sure if they will let me. Have any of you guys had this problem? What did you do? Please Help!!!

If the thing has a crack, I would return it asap. That crack will probably get worse over time.

Thanks but it's a creak, not a crack.

Creak or crack I would return it, it will just get worse unless you want to try the fix

I think you have a faulty one, I have used my all the time since it came out without any problems noted. I think its a great bit of kit for the price

Thank you. Do you think the shop will let me return it for a different model?

Depends on the shop. I have exchanged things 3 months later. And they were not even defective.

Mine is doing exactly the same. Was just when warm. Now creaks all the time. I bought mine from the well known high street electrical store (the one who's name is like a spicy meal!) But don't think they'll do anything. I've had trouble returning stuff there in the past. I don't know where we stand.

Yes Agee, you must return it, it should not be like that.

Thanks, got mine from the same place. Unfortunately, they wouldn't let me return it. Won't be buying from them again...

It is a hardware defect and they should let you return it. Try again and be forceful!

By the way, Google Play bought devices have been exchanged for this - mine included.

Mine doesn't "creak", but it definitely has some give on the back. I too thought that it was a quality of build. I should not be able to press in on the back of the device and have the plastic flex.
