It might do if you change the governor. Some ROMs have the issue on the One X (also Tegra 3), change to Interactive and the stutter disappears.
Same here, fwiw.
Might try messing with kernel settings. Never hurts to try.
Mostly happens when I use Google Play Music. And its not entirely consistent either. It just starts stuttering like mad crazy for no apparent reason other than I opened an app or shut the screen off. Which may be because of the governor, so I'll try that.
It's quite expensive, but I guess I'd need to find a use for it. I think the on screen keyboard / Swiftkey would be ok, but I'm thinking about if I could use the N7 for school, but I don't write essays or anything at the moment.

Poetic Slimline Portfolio Case for Google Nexus 7 Android Tablet by Asus Black(Automatically Wakes and Puts the Nexus 7 to Sleep)(3 Year Manufacturer Warranty From Poetic)(Final Version: With Secure Magnetic Closure, Cover Able to Fully Fold Back without Activating Sleep Mode)

I'm still using my 'temp' cheapey ebay case that I bought somewhere in August.
It stands, folds back without putting the tablet to sleep (major selling point there), magnetic wake and magnetic closure. Plus the stitch and finish isn't bad at all and the PU feels pleasant and almost looks like real fake leather the inside is just fabric, but also still holding up a lot longer then I expected.
It does add a lot of bulk to the previously slick N7 but in turn, it seems very well protected. Survived quite a few drops and rough situations already (I sometimes forget it's in my jacket pocket when I go out).
But the best part about this case is it only cost $8, including overseas shipping.
Sorry for the sales talk on cheap cases, but I feel like doing this every time I see people praise expensive cases

I always go with cheap cases. They seem to hold up to a drop like I need them to and it gives me a chance to have multiple cases. That way if I need a case with a different function or look I can switch to it.
Well, I confess waiting for a Nexus 4 to get in stock has become really old. I started looking at other sellers and realizing, for a reliable reseller, I was looking at a markup of $150-200. I said, geez, I can almost get a Nexus 7 for that.
So I think I will. And wait until the Nexus 4 is easy... if I still want one.
Thanks actually. I forgot about looking on eBay, and I know that there are some good deals to be had.
I just thought branded = quality, which I know isn't always the case. :-P case...
Links to the eBay case?
It's been a while, don't know if it's still active but ill check my history in a bit.
Edit: Here's the link to the one I bought. Don't really have time atm to see if the guy still sells any but there were many of these circulating back then. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221117021978

Hurray! Good to see some more old N1 folk over here!

I own a Note 2, a Nexus 7, an iPad mini and an iPad 4 with it's retina display.
Frankly I find the display of the Nexus 7 very nice indeed. The Note 2 is a bit over saturated and the contrast a bit intense. The N7 is more realistic and balanced. Side by side with the gorgeous 9.7" retina display of my iPad 4, the Nexus 7 holds it own very well.
Only Android bashers, or those who are bent on complaining would be critical of the N7 display. Given it's lower resolution, if I didn't know the specs, in no way would I suspect it to be so much lower in resolution, yet look so good.
In addition, the N7 is 15 mm narrower than my iPad mini, and that makes it the perfect size (at least for me) to be very comfortable to hold with one hand. As much as I enjoy a large tablet for around the house use, my Nexus 7 is by far my favorite of all.
If I could only afford just one tablet, I would choose the Nexus 7 without a moment's hesitation.

Are you aware the Note2 ships with the saturation cranked up? I have mine set for "Natural" and it looks fine. Out of the box saturation is extreme.
I'm not "basher", but c'mon, the N7's screen is under-saturated and is lower contrast than is pleasing to many users' eyes.
Its definitely under saturated, I'll give you that. Though not to the point of displeasing in my opinion.
How did you adjust the saturation on the Note 2? Is it built in to the phone?
Settings>Display>Screen Mode>Choose from 4 saturation levels and hit "Save"
For the price I paid for the N7, the screen is something I expect not to be stellar. If I had paid $500 for it, then I'd be very unhappy with it. I knew when I bought it, that it wasn't knock-your-socks-off awesome.

So far I've read about the Acer Iconia B1 for £100. Doesn't look as good spec-wise as the N7, but then again, sometimes dual core >= Quadcore
There's also the Tegra 4 powered Vizio Tablet But saying Tegra and 4 in the same sentence would make me think hat it's more than likely out of my price range.

I like this case, similar to the iPad one. But I'm not sure if the multi angle holding thing on the speck and other cases would stop me getting this.
well.. it is hard to say.. because of what you MIGHT need for current schooling.
if you need to do a lot of papers.. writing long documents on a tablet.. is a pain in the behind. even with a Keyboard.. size will kill your eyes and give you a headache;
a tablet is more a fun/luxury item.
a phone is for safety and peace of mind.
a laptop is way more usable for everything.
so.. if school work is a must.. then a cheap laptop is better.
a $500 laptop for now is good.
then later.. when budget is good. you can get a $200 tablet.
I would have to agree with dan330, the tablet is nice but not made to replace a notebook. If your school is anything like mine then they use flash very heavily on there site. also if you take any online classes and they use adobe connect then good luck getting that to work on a tablet. I have yet to find a way to get it working correctly.
