How to transfer files directly from phone to tablet?
is it possible to take a micro USB to micro USB cable and plug 1 end into my Bionic and another end into my nexus tablet and just transfer files between the 2 of them?

I thought of Bluetooth, but I figured it would be way too slow probably have to do 1 by 1. I wanted to connect the cable, select anything and download it all at once.
I feel like I started to figure it out, I plugged in my OTG cable into the Nexus and then plugged the micro USB end of the charging plug into the Bionic. I change the MTP and PTP settings and got the Nexus to recognize the Bionic and the bionics gallery. But it doesn't appear that able to access any of the files at this point.

It may still be slow, but you could just zip the contents of your sdcard and send it all at once that way....
Some good apps for this are archidroid or es file explorer. Both can create zips. The only potential problem i could see is you would have to have enough space on the bionic to actually create the zip

another option if you have wifi.. use a syncing app like .. Dropbox.
not the fastest.. but very helpful in many situations.
home/personal/business/etc...
you can put dropbox on all your devices.. nexus7, phone, computer.
it will sync any folder(s)/files to all the devices.. automatic.

TBH, I don't know if the pin outs are correct for the cable you are describing, but I did exactly what you are describing with an OTG cable plugged into the N7, and the factory USB charging cable for the phone (HTC Droid Eris) plugged between that and the phone. OTG cables are inexpensive - a couple of bucks.
I would be gun shy of plugging expensive electronics together simply because the connectors happen to fit.
I've also done it via Bluetooth and ES File manager. Didn't measure the bit rate in either case, but I transferred something like 5 Gigs in the former case without a hitch.
good luck

It'll work if you use the app 'StickMount' with your USB OTG cable, it'll mount your other phone as a proper USB mass storage.
But StickMount needs the N7 been rooted.

I use FTP to transfer files between devices and my laptop when connected to my wifi home network. It's very fast. FTPServer and AndFTP are the Android apps I use. I use Filezilla on the PC.
