I'm sad :( Lost my Nexus
So, very sad day this morning when I woke up and was unable to find my Nexus One >_<; I'm not sure if it's misplaced somewhere at my bf's or...if I lost it on the bus :< I'm hoping it's MIA in his room although we've torn the room apart and more. The best part...my phone is dead so I couldn't call it or use any of those apps that lock the phone, track the phone or erase the info on it that I have on my Nexus :/ *argh* Such bad luck. BF had to catch a plane for the airport today so we couldn't tear his place up further. So right now I feel absolutely naked without my Nexus. It was an extension of my arm. Always withing arm's reach.
I'm going to borrow my friend's crippled LG Eve running 1.6. YES! It is running 1.6!!! Sadly there are phones that still run the prehistoric doughnut. I guess until I save for the next phone...this will do
Anyways, I wanted to just rant this out :< and say that even if I don't have my Nexus One, I'll still haunt this forum :P

YIKES!!
That's such a horrible feeling. There's this knot in the pit of your stomach and you feel both panicky and depressed at the same time. I've lost my phone a few times only to find it in the laundry or sofa cushion. Once it was found on in the middle of the yard, but I was always able to call it and hear the distinctive ringtone (Vivaldi).
Can you monitor use on the carrier's website to see if there have been any calls made from it since you lost it?
Sorry to hear, Roze. For next time, check out Lookout, it will track your phone from the web. No phone needed. Of course, the phone would have to be on. Since I never turn mine off, that's not an issue.

I say pick the lock at BF's place.
Wouldn't help in Roze's situation since her phone was dead, good luck roze, really sad day.

Thanks guys My family have made fun of me countless times for always carrying the phone around with me. My sis called it my hobby since as I've said, it's within arm reach 100% of the time. It warms my bed more times than my bf XD Even when I do my daily stretching I'm also doing something on my phone, lol.
Well the good thing is that all of my things are backup to lookout. Google contact and calendar are backed up by Google. I have most of my documents saved to dropbox. Good thing for that! It's just *argh* I don't want strangers to see my private and personal stuff :/ Everything I have for the 10 months is in there. Trying to see if I can backup what's on my phone to my computer. For some reason...I don't see that. It seems to be for mobile only :< Seems like I have to manually download each picture XD That will be fun! Just realized that my lookout was manually backuped since I don't know when...so last backup was *cough* Halloween.
I've been careful with the phone since I got it and I take 100% care of it :/ I can basically pin point the 'time' it went MIA. I was using it on the bus and last text was at 9:45. Got to my bf's place at 9:55...but I didn't use the phone again. Thought it was in my *deep* jacket pocket until I tried to find it this morning.
I must say...I have very bad luck with phones during Christmas. My previous phone was also lost around this time as well -_-;;; It took me 3 months to save the money for the Nexus too. I sacrificed going out with my friends and shopping for those 3 months :/ I think that's what I'll have to do again if I want another Android phone, lol. If I do get another phone, it might either be the Nexus S or I'm hopping another pure android phone will come out in 2011 if I can afford it...
Called my carrier to see if there was any activity on the phone after 10pm but the rep said that they don't have the data until 2 days after. How useless is THAT! I'll check it out just to satisfy my curiosity. I've put a hold on my phone account until I get a temp phone. I can upgrade and get a new phone and sign an additional 2 years on my contract on February 19, 2011. If I can't save enough money to buy an unlock phone by then...I might have to go that root.
I just wish I realized it was lost sooner so I had a higher chance of finding it using lookout and a few other apps I had on the phone. There should be a way to track your phone even when it's *dead*!!!
I have a question, is there a way I can have my Google account deactivated on my phone or something? I don't want whoever has my phone to use it to buy useless apps, lol.
I think if I'm very desperate I might get a BB Torch if I can get one of my friend's bf's friends that works at RIM to get me one for $350. lol If I don't like it, I can sell it on craiglist and use the money to buy an Android phone XD
Day one without my phone and it was horrible. Died of boredom on the train because with nothing to do (no music to listen to or can't youtube, read the news). Was meeting up with some friends and I prayed to God that they weren't late cause first...there's almost NO pay phone in downtown Toronto :/ so...if they were late...I wouldn't even know. I use my phone as my watch since I hate watches... so I had to ask people on the street for the time. It's so sad
Until my friend gives me her phone...if I need to call someone it's *walks up to someone*
Roze: I'm sorry *sad face* I lost my phone and I was wondering if you have a cell phone that I can borrow to make a quick call *bites lips and looks up with big pleading eyes* That always worked. Good thing I look cute and innocent. Don't think that will work if I am big and look intimidating.
Oh...sorry for the rambling XD was trying to respond to all of the posts *feels popular*

Reason: wow..major grammar errors >_<
Roze, you should be able to change your Google/Gmail password on the web, which I believe will cause the phone to prompt for the pasword the next time it comes on, which will render it unable to use your account since anyone else won't have the new password.

awww, thanks Mostly <3 That's so sweet of you to offer But I'll just use my friend's LG Eve. I'm pretty sure she'll just give it to me since she dispised that phone and she has 2 backup phones. Just realized that it's actually didn't get the Donut update...so it's still rocking 1.5 It's beyond prehistoric! I might finally have the need to root XD

OK, good to know. Will change my PW when I'm home. Can't do it at work :< Damn restrictions!!!!
Damn, Sorry to hear that Roze, that sucks monkey balls. I know the feeling, it's like utter desperation, your phone is an extension of you and much more than just monetary value. I lost mine a few weeks ago and was going crazy. Tore up the house, car, and even went looking for it on the street, hoping to retrace my steps. Luckily for me I had dropped it at my cousin's house and somehow it got kicked under the sofa. Worst feeling ever until you get that happy reunion. I'm hoping somehow, you can still find yours. Maybe someone will find it in their hearts to do a good deed and return your phone. I mean it is Christmas and stranger things have happened.

Yes, I hope I get a happy reunion when my bf's back and I find it at his place. Another theory was that someone might have pickpocketed my phone when I was on the bus O.o unlikely...but possible since the bus was extra packed. Some people don't have X-mas spirit though I wish I had engraved my name on the phone so it'd be harder for the person to sell the phone on ebay or what not, lol...but I was thinking for resale value it was better not to when I want to upgrade to the next 'great phone' lol.

Called earlier and they said they didn't get any phones in from the weekend So if I lost it...I highly doubt it that someone will return it :/ I left my contact info with her and will keep in touch just in case.

No problem Roze, offer still stands incase it doesn't work out.
Any thoughts to what phone you would want to get if you don't find it?

I'm trying to see if I can get my hand on a BB Torch atm. It's unlock and I know someone that knows someone that works for RIM, so they get a really good discount of $350 for an unlock one and sell it O.o (tell my friend I didn't like it XD) But it's not much of a saver...brand new unlock are quite competitive on ebay at around $$450-500, lol. I'm not really sure what phone I want. Depends on how much I save in 2 months for it tbh, lol. December is an expensive month :/ I want to see what is showcaing in CES for 2011, lol. My carrier offers a captivate and that might be a last resort of just upgrading, lol. Sadly all othe ther other android phones SUCK like hell and back.
with ns out, aren't the n1s dropping in price? i just took a quick look on craigslist (i'm in chicago), and they're going for $325-375. would still be better than a blackberry.

Yeah, I just realized that today that the N1 would be much cheaper now with the NS out. But I'm broke until Feburary anyways -_-; lol
I've "lost" my phone once, it was on the side of my car seat... but sorry to hear that.. you should try calling it. I'm sure if someone found it they would have charged it(everyone has a microsb charger) good luck on ur phone

@Roze -- when is your boyfriend supposed to be back in town so you can thoroughly check his apartment? I'm sure you'll find it there and all your worries will have been for nothing.
I'm sorry to hear you lost your Nexus One. That sucks!

With all the BS rules that eBay has changed over the years to maximize their profits and allow more sales, ie, making active bidder id's private and no longer being able to warn them of a fake watch(item) for example, I'm surprised they haven't cracked down on ridiculous shipping charges. I mean, aside from Paypal fee's, eBay doesn't take a cut out of the shipping charge right?
To me, thats the sole reason for ridiculous S&H charges, aside from possibly fooling a bidder, is to work around the eBay fee's
Man, I really hope your N1 is sitting in a nook somewhere in your bf's place

haha, well still broke until Feb and another thing...I'm on the AT&T frequency. So your Tmo N1 won't work for me :P lol I see you're selling your 16gb, I guess you don't need THAT for your NS, lol. If the NS had expendable memory you would have gotten a total of 32gb for your phone!

Me too. This thought is what's keeping me from breaking down and ball my eyes out. It's simply too depressing to think I've lost it when I've been so careful with it.
BF won't be back until first week of January >_<;;;
and talked to my friend and she told me she sold her Eve and she doesn't know where her other spare phone is >_<;

True but i never went past half on my SD card.. I dont use my phone for music, so I have plenty of space.
Roze, I would be willing to sell mine for a reasonable price if you are interested. They are going for around £200 here - I'd be willing to sell for that sort of price if interested.

OK, so got somewhat good news. I'm not phoneless anymore (well won't be tomorrow)!
Just want to thank everyone for their kind words and offering me your old spare phone! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
So my sister from the States with AT&T gave my sis here a BB7800 when we visited her for Thanksgiving. I didn't really know this. So today my brother in law called AT&T and got an unlock code. He didn't expect it to be THAT easy. Well he told sis to give him her phone's SIM card. I was with her and told him that her phone is a CDMA one and does not have a SIM card. So as the opportunist lady that I am, I asked if I can use it! So now I'm sporting a BB something.
Only problem is, I don't know what model it is...all BB looks the same to me tbh XD Been google imaging them and they do look all the same. Anyways, took a picture of it and you can tell me what it is if one of you know XD
But man...I feel like I've taken a hundred steps back with this phone. It's so not intuitive. I guess it's so basic...it's confusing me :< So far, I keep forgetting it's not a touch phone so I feel like such a ditz when I'm tapping or swiping the screen *tap, tap, tap, swipe to the next screen*... *wonder why it's not responding* XD

God...saying that browsing on the internet is a PITA is a BIG FAT understatement!!! -_-;
This phone has way too many 'hidden' shortcuts :/ I think I might have to join crackberry :< I'm going to see if there's a subforum here for 'blackberry implants' lol...I think I saw one awhile back. Prefer to ask the questions here then joining another forum, lol.
Haha, the biggest problem there is: They only let in people with special keycard, so she wouldn't been able to go into my residence even if it was open.
But not much time now either way before I'm going back to Canada, so will do a proper search. I am though honestely more worried about it being stolen, since it was bit obvious she had a smartphone and I wasn't feeling that great that day.
But on the other hand, it also might be thrown/let down into something weird place.
Long before the Nexus One launched, the media was filled with speculation, buzz, rumors, and excitement regarding the possibility of a "Google Phone". The rumors were put to rest when Google announced the Nexus One, the first ever Google ... Read More
