Being a bit of a perfectionist, I sent my N1 off to be repaired because the antenna cover didn't fit so good, it was offset by about 0.5mm, causing it to occasionally catch on the pouch when getting removed.
I thought I would quickly go over the good and bad points of the operation for any interested parties.
I made the decision on Weds last week (17th) and arrange for the repair, HTC are quite a friendly bunch over phone, so that was nice. Collection of my handset was arranged for the following day by UPS.
Being a bit paranoid about my phone, I packed that sucker up good, tons of bubble wrap everywhere, sadly the courier arrived before HTC got the shipping label to me, this was the bad part as the guy I then spoke to was adamant the tick sheet was the same thing as the shipping label no matter what I told him, in the end he just hung up on me
Tried again and got a much more helpful chap who got the shipping label sorted and said he'd rearrange it for Friday. Except he didn't
So Friday afternoon I arrange the collection myself for Monday, which to be honest I prefer as I'm not without the thing over the weekend.
Monday comes and hooray, UPS arrive to take it away, onto the comedy SPV500 for a few days.
Now all I can do is keep an eye on

Thursday morning I get a notification that all is done and it's being sent back to me, yay!
Fast forward to just now, UPS have dropped the phone off, it is my original which I am happy about as I know it's a pretty decent one, no dust under screen etc.
The antenna cover has been replaced rather than just popped off and refitted which is cool as the original had picked up a couple of the oh-so common marks from using the pouch, and the new one fits much better.
Best news yet though, they have removed the ERE36B update and dropped me back to ERE27 which I am very happy about, was expecting to have to root to dump that
