thinking about getting the verizon nexus one,was wondering how many mb are available for apps?thanks.

Doesnt matter...Apps2SD is being worked on by Google...within a few months, the size of the SD Card you buy will dictate the number of apps you can have,

but there is 512mb of rom space from the factory
but he is right, there is supposed to be the ability to send SOME apps to the sd card
if you send the app to the sd card just make sure you have a class six card not some crap class 2
