Cool HelixLauncher2 0.7 + System App Mod - 7 Home Screens, Remove Notification Bar & MORE!

Dev info/support here: [APP] HelixLauncher2 0.7 + System App Mod [19/04/10] - xda-developers

HelixLauncher2 0.7 + System App Mod

First off here are some things to note:

1. It works on Rooted and NON-Rooted (Stock) phones!
2. Market Version does NOT replace your Home/Default Launcher App
2a. Rooted users have an option to replace the Default Launcher (system App Mod)

Modified Launcher2 features:
  • Based on Launcher2 from Cyan's git
  • iPhone/Hero-like Scrolling
  • Fully fixed auto rotation
  • App Menu Button Long Press -> Quick Switcher
  • Up to 7 screens! NEW!
  • Long-press at desktop as an option
  • Drag & Drop bottom shortcuts NEW!

I have been using the HelixLauncher2 for a long while now and absolutely LOVE it. This latest version makes me love this app even more. I can't imagine using my Nexus One without it now. So many enhancements and little things that make this invaluable.

The Quick Launch buttons on the bottom (optional) are fantastic and keep access to my most used apps/features on ALL screens. Easy to set up and use, you will LOVE it!!

Comes default with 7 screens but you can set it up with any number of screens up to 7 Max.

Landscape works flawlessly on the home screen or app drawer!

Try it out and see what you think!

Here are some detailed screens:

I installed it yesterday and think it's fantastic. Having the 4 icons I want at the bottom all the time is great.

A well recommended home replacement IMO. Thanks Talderon.

No problem, I can't imagine Android without this launcher now.

I installed HelixLauncher (1) a few days back for it's overall better responsiveness and all the advantages pointed out here.
Any major reasons why HelixLauncher2 should be better for me?

++++ ditto here! LOVE having the 3D platform with the 4 apps on EVERY screen! I've been looking for something like this since I bought my phone.

The Helix Launcher 1 is based on the Android 1.x app drawer code and has the advantage of being faster.

However, the Helix Launcher 2 is based on the Android 2.x app drawer with enhancements.

1. Smoother Scrolling than stock
2. Works in Landscape Mode

There is more, those are just the 2 big points for most people.

Weird.. I also have landscape and smoother, SenseUI-like scrolling.
I the only difference the 3D scrolling? Because if that's all then I'm more than happy I settled for the faster version, it's still very nice

What? It's clean...

Well, I have some other ones that are a bit more... well.. close to the line, but all in all, I try to keep it clean since I have the only Nexus One in the office and others use it to test mobile web pages and all that.

I agree, but I have a whole collection of clean ones that I use. The not so clean ones are, well, not clean and cool, but not what I am into. Even though most of the artists out there like to draw the not so clean ones, mostly, there really is a lot out there that is clean and very good.

Just Downloaded HelixLauncher 2. Works pretty good so far. A bit of lag when cycling through the screens but not a deal breaker. (a slight snag with loading battery widget but seems to have worked itself out) I'm enjoying it so far.

Where are the images from? (clean and not so clean)

They are talking about Talderon's anime wallpaper, lol.

@ Talderon's please resize your homescreen shots or make them as a pic attachment...for some reason, they've gotten big >_> I'd need 2 monitors to read everything...or alot of scrolling : <

Also, are any of you getting the permanent 'problem loading widget' error message on the left second screen? I find it really annoying :/ and it eats up a whole row! :@

Ok... ok... I just added links to my Photobucket Album and a Slide Show...

As for my wallpaper, it can be called Anime, but it's Anthromorphic/Furry in reality.

The widget is a seperate app called "beautiful widgets" which is available on the market. It is a paid app but it's well worth it.
