On this note, though it isn't GW related...I have noticed that I have gotten my phone to ultimately do the same behavior and it was because of my own setting selection.
I selected to not have automatic time in the date and time settings. This throws things off a lot when you aren't expecting it and there is a time difference. What made me realize it the most was that I have a countdown widget for certain things, such as anniversary, and it was showing like several thousand days. So I was like, ok, that's not right. I went to date and time and sure enough, the year was pushed back from now until 2004, kind of an odd year. Well anyways, all in all, having the time updated and correct, the phone could then sync. Otherwise, it wouldn't let me do anything and the sync indicator remained and my battery was dropping like a dive bomber. Since I came here to read and see what others were experiencing, I thought I'd report on my experience, that if that doesn't work above, check date and time just in case....
