Thinking of getting a Nexus S
I live in Canada and the Nexus S will be released next month along with the Atrix. The specs of the Atrix are amazing but I don't care much for Motoblur. Although the Nexus S has a 1GHz processor, it's plenty for me.
Before diving into the Nexus S, are there any known issues with the phones hardware & software? To Nexus S owners, how do you feel it compares to other Android devices? Finally, if you had to do it all again, would you still purchase the Nexus S after owning it?
Thanks.

I love my Nexus S. Best phone I have owned which includes iPhone, iPhone 3GS, Droid, Droid X, MyTouch 4G.
I would definitely buy it again!
The only issue I know of is a reboot bug that Google is addressing already and will be releasing a fix for soon.

It currently has a glitch that causes the phone to occasionally reboot in the middle of a phone call. It's a pretty annoying issue, but I'd imagine it should be sorted out and fixed quite soon with an OTA update from Google.

Mine reboots often enough during calls to be a pain.
It has also rebooted a couple of times recently when setting wallpaper.

It seems to affect some phones a lot yet others are absolutely fine. It has never happened to me, not once, weird.

I would get the Atrix and use LauncherPro.
No reason to spending the same money on less of a phone. I would recommend LauncherPro to anyone using any form of Android except maybe Sense UI.
But really if MotoBlur is what's gonna turn you off of the Atrix, use LauncherPro.

Stock android and launcher pro plus beat everything else. Sense UI sucks.
Get the nexus S, put CM7 on it and overclock it. I'm running at 1.3 ghz right now and it's awesome

Launcher pro is quick but I hate the way it looks and it isn't very customizable. I'll stick with adw ex its everything I could ask for in a launcher.

Launcher Pro is actually very customizable. You can change the dock, icons, gestures, number of homescreens, number of icons rows and columns, and you can resize widgets. What is not customizable about that??

I'm trying ADW EX at the moment, it's good but doesn't have as many options as LP.

Really I'm surprised. I haven't used launcher pro in quite a while. I'll have to try it out again.
The Nexus S is the second generation in a line of smartphones that are in direct collaboration with Google. This time, it's made by Samsung as opposed to the Nexus One from HTC. Google's Nexus line of phones are always a stock, vanilla Andr... Read More
