Cool Nexus One Picture Thread!

Right seeing that I cannot find one like this here (please delete if there is a thread like this) I may as well start the ball rolling.

Post pictures taken with your Nexus One and if you used some custom settings and can remember them those too. The idea is so we can get a rough idea of what the camera is capable of, in certain conditions, with certain settings.

Tutorial for uploading using only your Nexus One
  1. Download the Photobucket app from the Market Place
  2. Sign up to Photobucket within the app (Settings > Login/Signup)
  3. (Be sure to turn off automatic upload in the Settings)
  4. Upload chosen picture from your gallery (Upload > Upload existing)
  5. Once uploaded, press the finished picture in the Upload window
  6. Choose the picture you want in your Photobucket gallery and view it
  7. Press the menu button and select View Links
  8. Tap the Direct link (it will auto copy to your clipboard)
  9. Come to the forums on the Nexus One and reply whilst pasting the link into the image box
  10. DONE!

So here's the first pic by me:

Was taken over the weekend when I went to visit some friends in Canterbury. All settings on automatic. I found the camera over compensated when I tilted it too high because of the sky so I had to point it down further than I would normally.. Not the best but I'm already impressed from the huge jump in picture quality from the HTC Heros' '5MP camera'.

I got my Nexus One this past Saturday and while I was out and about, I was playing with the Camera and took the shot below. Now, I was just messing with the camera and forgot I even took this picture until I read this thread.

Looking at this picture on the Nexus One was nice, seeing it on my desktop, HOLY CRAP! This picture is way better than I have EVER seen come from a phone!

This picture is out of the window of a restaurant in Seattle, WA - USA. The significance of this is that it is February, SUNNY and 60 degrees (f) outside...

The more I see from this phone, the more excited I am about it. I have a 7.2MP Digital Camera that I used to carry around with me... No more...

Pics from my recent desert paintball outing. I live in AZ. I can't remember if I had the phone set to 5MP or 3MP.

can someone tell me how to make this image full size. i am hosting it on photobucket and it seems to have been scaled down a lot.

edit: i just checked photobucket and my max size is 640x480. please help! that sucks. the picture looks great full size.

Strange...I hosted my picture on Photobucket and it wasn't reduced in size at all. Nice pic anyway though!

And 1080P, some of those paintball guns look seriously heavy duty! How they've changed since I last went paintballing!

This was taken after a night out a few weeks ago. One of the first photos I took on the camera.

I think it shows quite well how drunk my mate must have been.

Haha sweet. Yeah one thing that I find very surprising is how bright the flash actually is! Now if only the imaging software is better with low light then I'll be very happy. As it is I think you can really only take stunning pictures during the day but I guess the same could be said for nearly every camera phone out there.

A pic of our stone turtle outside in the garden! Think the camera seemed to focus on the stacked slates behind it more though... Do we have a point to focus option? I only used automatic...

I would post my pics but I can't seem to get Bluetooth file transfers working to my laptop and I want to pick the best ones (and the worst!) which is hard to do from the phone screen. I refuse to walk all the way upstairs to hunt for my USB cable.

Go downstairs and get your cable you lazy girl! :P Or you can try one of those apps which lets you transfer your files wirelessly. Think it's called WebSharing.

My photos look awful compared to all yours. Clearly I need some practice.

Pheasant through a window

Garden.

Nasty post-snow village pond. Smelt freaking awful! Focus seems to be on the rotting weeds and not the scenary

Focus is on the fence. Handy. Grr.

Looking at a few of these, it does seem that it exhibits the usual characteristics of a small sensor, i.e. it's pretty sharp, with some softness towards the edges.
And the camera will exhibit some noise in the dark again due to the small sensor.

There's a bit of CA on some of the pictures, but again, it's a camera phone after all.

I've only taken a couple and dropped one on picasa but there's no direct IMG link which is rubbish, but needless to say, it was in direct blue sunshine when we had the snow here in the UK and is reasonably sharp.

Coming from my N96 I miss not having modes, the macro mode on the Nokia was pretty impressive for a little camera..

That said the modes on fxcamera are rather fun, although the one of my daughter done in the warhol stylee got miscontrued as a baby scan on facebook - whoops!

I am impressed, I'm going to start taking more photos and upload them. What I have now isn't umm shareable :P.

Picasa is great!! It even shows me where the photos were taken on Google Maps.

I had photobucket but uninstalled it because it always started itself and ran in the background. It was the most persistent little app... little bastard.

Honestly I think Picasa is the best way.. I don't understand all the Bluetooth/USB cable commotion when you can select the picture, hit share, and hit Picasa. Your done. The image is uploaded and you've got a neat map showing where the photos were taken

Here's a picture of a mate the morning of a stag due with no sleep the night before:

I always get full just by looking at that breakfast!

I can't top that breakfast!!

Took this whilst out at lunch - it seems it does well in sunny weather. This was taken with fxcamera, not the standard app..

I wonder if the standard app would have done better?

It looks like there's some "anti-aliasing" involved.

Wow! These pics are great! I'm really impressed with Fastmhz' Louis Vuitton shot for the vibrant colors indoors and Buck Shot's night-time Trojan Horse pic. In addition to getting the N1, I was planning on getting a compact camera but this will save me that money. Yea!

Saw this on my walk into town earlier. I'm shocked they thought it necessary to put direction signs on a roundabout!

Also another one of a church. The camera really does well in good, sunny light:

Because you might have one of us silly Americans try to drive around the right side! I like the church!
