hmmm

dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0boot0 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0boot0
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0boot1 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0boot1

run those commands in a rooted shell or terminal emulator with root and we can check those 2 partitions out and see if we can make progress.

nah wasnt them :/ chances are its some random obscure string in the middle of the first partition

Alcatel One Touch Evolve ClockWorkMod Request id suggets reading more up on it here. the commands to dump would be different as its a different device, but dumping the various partitions would reveal which one is which and might give me the file i need to get the partition layout.

i believe it was in cache that had the recovery files to show me the partition info needed.

Okay here is what I found so far mmcblk0p8 @126MB, mmcblk0p9 @2.14GB, mmcblk1 @over 3GB, mmcblk0 @another big file....

shell@android:/ # dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk1p1 of=/mmcblk1p
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk1p1 of=/mmcblk1p1
/mmcblk1p1: cannot open for write: Read-only file system

Also in the folder /dev/block/platform there are two directories mtk-msdc.0 and mtk-mdsdc.1 .... The first one contains mmcblk0, mmcblkboot1, mmcblkboot2, mmcblk0p1, mmcblk0p2, mmcblk0p3, mmcblk0p4, mmcblk0p5, mmcblk0p6, mmcblk07, mmcblkp8, mmcblkp9. The second folder contains mmcblk1 and mmcblk1p1. I hope this helps somehow....

mmcblk1 is your sdcard, so any partitions off of that like mmcblk1p1 are your sdcard partitions. unfortunately none of those sizes sound correct for a recovery.img, like i said I fear it is hidden in with the other partitions. i wish i knew someone with mediatek experience to ask but mostly all just chinese knockoff phones t hat have these chips and thus most devs for them are scammers or dont speak english.

Nope nothing, I'm going to MetroPCS main locations to try to exchange it. I'll tell them that there was a "pop out" that appeared on my phone asking if I want to update the phones software.

This was originally a T-Mobile phone, it even runs on their network. I'll upload a better quality picture once I have access to a better camera if you want. And I got lucky I'm getting my replacement on Friday, Saturday the latest. Anyway here is what it says since it's too blurry, if you go to the website you will see that I am really lucky that they replaced it due to "securelock". Anyway is there anyway to unlock the bootloader and is there anything I can do? I'll have a non functioning phone for a week. And thanks for your help.

Error 101: The phone has been flashed with unauthorized software & is locked. Visit T-Mobile.com/securelock for more information

Oh ok, anyway thanks for helping me. I'm pretty sure the Evolve would have a locked bootloader too so should warn the other guy.

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas I unfortunately soft bricked my Alcatel
One Touch Fierce by modding the build.prop and now I'm stuck at T-Mobile screen. Can someone do a back up of their device and upload it to me please. I gladly pay-pal some bucks your way.

Thanks in advance and best wishes this holiday season.

ill tell you right here right now the odds of you getting an unlocked bootloader are none. this is such a low profile device and no one knows anything about the security or chipset. no security expert is going to release and thus burn an exploit on a phone that may have what? 17 people for it?

the only people i know capable of this kind of stuff have masters and are brilliant and sadly wouldn't bother with such a small device.

possibly a 2nd init, but no idea if that would even work on the chipset in this device. if it was your run of the mill qualcomm yea, but its some mediatek garbage it doesn't even have a proper recovery partition.

Hey Shabby can you please describe the difference between a normal custom recovery and a 2nd init recovery.

normal recovery you can get into no matter how bad you mess up your system rom, 2nd init requires your phone to be booted and to then "reboot" your device with a modded ramdisk into a temp recovery. downside of 2nd init is that it will not save you form bootloops.

[QUOTE=Shabbypenguin;6344962]chances are its like the one touch evloved where the partition is actually hidden. ive never dealt with these kinds of devices.[/QUOTE

Is this video for the sim unlock or the bootloader? I dont know to much about unlocking either one so.. You know what your doing youve helped allot with different types of phones so here's the link Instant Fast Unlock 7024W 7024N Alcatel Fierce T-Mobile Metro PCS Brightspot by USB cable on Vimeo

Also this site News - Sigma - MTK, Qualcomm, Broadcom, TI OMAP based flashing, unlocking, repair IMEI solution was posted on another site, could this potentially unlock our bootloader?

Any info would be appreciated.

If "securelock" is not specific to this phone, is it possible that it could be cracked itself?
