Could be for a variety of reasons. Which gapps did you install?
GPS FIX and other
-install CWM
-reboot recovery
-wipe data/factory reset, cache and Dalvik cache (in "advanced")
-flash Tom Romspert's sense rom (pm me for link if you cant find it)
-without restarting or anything Flash the CM740C latest build from playfuldroidz's wiki
-flash gapp file
-restart
-gps should be working
other workarounds:
-had the same sync problem. turns out the account was not set to sync contacts by default. go to settings-> account-> choose google account -> tick mark contacts and gmail or whatever is not syncing.
-should already know this but turn the display animations off in cmodsettings and android settings else screen won't turn back on.
note to playfulgod:
-bluetooth working, gps working, mms not checked.
-getting the not sufficient space for istalling programs when 1000mb still available. i doubt its a problem with the market because i used titanium backup to restore my old market. still the same error.
even after turning off the animations the screen takes abit longer come on. i was using Toms's cm7 port before this and after turning animations off the screen came back on in an instant.
really appreciate your work on the port. looking fwd to the release. will test new builds whenever i get the time.

Why would anyone want to install anything from Tom ripspert? All he has done is steal, take credit from himself for shyt he did not do himself, lie to the community about how he did it, and not show one shred of proof he has ever done anything himself. not to mention pretty much demanding $$ b4 he would release stuff that he didnt even do.
Now about your other fixes. Installing a ROM and then wiping data, cache, and dalvik isnt gonna fix anything as the rest gets formatted during install.
MMS has been report to work w/o the fix, just might need to set a custom user agent to LG-LW690.
GPS has been reported to work but not w/o network location on too. tested this myself too.
Far as gmail I've not have any issues syncing or any problems with the market or space errors. Think that is a issue with the 0724 wtfe gapps i had linked, got the 0613 gapps linked now, and is what I been installing from RM.
Turning off screen on/off animations and surface dithering and using ADW, and setting the min cpu speed up to 245 helped the screen wake issue tremendously on my OC.
Tom's 'port' was not a port, it was a jacked copy of aospbots's VM port that had been metro-ized he halfassed cooked or more likely unzipped and made changes because it def wasnt signed, and def wasnt compiled by Tom.
I dont mean to sound hateful towards you, and I am sorry if I am coming off as such. I know you are just giving me feedback from your experience with CM74OC and I appreciate it. But ppl like Tom erk me to no end.

I had the new ones from July linked b4, I have changed them back to 0613 which is what CM recommends still (checked b4 I edited my links). The 0613 gapps is what I have been installing via rom manager and I've not had any sync, market, or space issues.
lol. i know the guy is an ass****. but was just giving you feedback.
i did install 0613 gapps and the problem i had was with that.
and i didnt wipe anything after i installed the sense rom. i installed the cm7 over it without wiping anything. that worked. that how i got it to work last time too.

K, like I said I know you're just giving me feedback and I appreciate, no ill will toward you meant
Umm thats means its something that gets cached, as system and boot get formated during the flash.
I'll check the gps.conf I am using to make sure it doesnt have some kinda 'fix' in it and research it some.

make sure your dl didnt get corrupted, and do the 3 main wipes if you didnt. In the past on other builds I have had to format everything but the sdcard to get certain builds to boot.
Prior to installation, I used CWM to format my SDCard and wipe all caches. Thought I'd report a few items of note...
1) Google maps/navigation still unable to find satellites. I can see my approximate location when LAN is turned -- but I cannot get GPS to work. Has anyone had any luck with GPS?
2) Lock screen still freezes -- even with min CPU frequency at 245 MHz. Turning off all animations fixes it well enough so no big deal there.
3) The market seems to work better than in prior builds. On one occasion I have received the "not enough space on device" error, even when there was enough space. I think I was able to overcome by clearing all caches. I never received a market error on stock ROMs. Do other ports of CM7 have this issue?

GPS is the biggest issue for me.
Thanks!
only heard of those type errors with a bad sdcard of a issue with the market apps. But I have yet to have those issues yet.
Next build the screen on/off animations will be off by default, bootsounds, ans a few other goodies.

in mounts and u can format each partition, one you want to concentrate on are: boot, system, and cache.

I got it to boot once and I noticed the CPU is set at 728 so if ur phone can't handle it then it won't boot so can u guys bring it back down to 600 so it will boot and allow us to flash it properly.
On the plus side I love the splash image and the boot animation and its smooth just to fast for my phone lol

Thanks dude, it took an hour to get it to boot completely and my phone died right as I went to lower the CPU so since then its been no luck
Would u let me know when it will be updated? Really wanna play with it lol
Wow. I'm really enjoying your port. I have 2 issues I haven't seen here in previous threads:
1. Camera works but image is rotated 180 degrees.
2. Recieved picture MMSs only display partial pictures. I've saved and viewed in other apps but the images look corrupted. They're the right size, though...
When I did a clean flash of the latest build it wouldn't download attached files at all. I eventually flashed an older build and flashed the newest on top...

Glazed kernel and camera is fixed! Also my "corrupted-appearing" mms pics are fixed. The only issue I still have is my GPS isn't working. Is this a known issue or just me?

Yea there seems to be an issue with the GPS locking on to a satellite only, but it works with network/data location enabled.
On the 09-09-2011 build the mms doesn't work I can receive them but not send anything nd when I try to flash the mms.zip it says error06 installation aborted?
