What did you do from the time you got into your recovery menu, till the time you selected the "reboot system now" option?

That's not really telling me enough. Let me read between the lines.
You wiped and formatted everything necessary for a new ROM install? If so. All you now have is a kernel flashed to the phone.
If on the other hand you just installed the kernel after wiping the cache partition, and dalvik cache, I would have to say that you need to try to flash the kernel with out wiping anything next time.
But, seeing's how you ROM is already messed up, you will need to wipe and format everything necessary for a Fresh ROM install. Flash the ROM, then the kernel, then the Gapps. Then select "reboot system now"

I can port the newer update for you, I just never did because I wasn't getting much feedback from it and I'm always busy with something, later tonight I'll put up an update....I also have this on androidcentral, I should check out what happened to it there.....

Add me to the list of successful "ROM'ers". Followed the instructions, first time trying to boot into the recovery got the fastboot error. Checked out the XDA forums from a link I got here, downloaded the SDK and a "fastboot erase recovery" and a "fastboot install recovery" (not verbatim, something like that) later I was in recovery.

Followed the rest of the instructions for wiping the caches, data, installing the ROM from the zip file and I'm good to go.

When I got this phone last July, we were barely able to root it. I had it rooted I think by Sep/Oct something like that, but couldn't find any reliable consistent info on how to get the recovery mod on it. SO here we are. I want to thank this community and the guys who worked so hard to enable us to mod our phones.

This is my first android phone, moved up from a Nokia E71. Never liked Iphones or Apple in general, but anyway, glad to a part of the Android community, and a big thanks to all the guys out there that put in long hours so that we can do great things with our phones.

Default MMS send but no receive. I know... i know...

Hey there Playful God, I'm quickly becoming a huge fan of your work after recently putting CM74OC on my Cricket Optimus. I hate to bother you with this, but I am able to send MMS and not Recieve. Everything else in the ROM is FANTASTIC! I did use my amazing reading abilities and process following skills to put the cricket MMS fix you so benevolently posted on the device, but it did not fix the issue. I also tried installing and utilizing an APN manager.

again, sorry to be "that guy" but i could really use some help, i use MMS to send/recieve job site photos to clients and my boss on a daily basis. Luckily i can send. Now please be aware, I am apparently no good with the terminal emulator (everytime i try to use it, it says "not found" for pretty much anything i do (mainly attempting to flash a recovery img.) ) so if you have a simple solution, or maybe an updated MMS Fix it would be greatly appreciated. Once again, thanks for all you do and the ROM is fantastic, this is the first of 4 rooted phones I have been able to get CM onm so I'm pleasantly pleased. thanks again

by "it" are you referring to the MMS fix or the ROM itself. I have redone the MMS fix 3 times, but never the rom. also, what exactly is plauge for? is it necessary? Should I flash that on my phone? I dont really overclock much (except when switching gov to POWERSAVE) so i didnt think i needed it. but maybe since i dont have it, that might be the issue?

Yes it helps to reflash the rom, then boot then into recovery and flash gapps then boot then into recovery and mms-fix probably you already knw this lol
to flash the plague do it this way:
In recovery: make a backup and do the wipe/factory date, partition cache, dalvik!
*plague
*Rom
*gapps

Do this within the recovery so you wont end up in a bootloop!
Make sure you backup

It helps reflash the rom if the problem isn't solve.the plague works like charm but it comes wit a warning lol to flash it do it dis way:
Do dis in recovery: make a backup and do the wips data/factory,cache partition, and dalvik.
then flash the following:
*plague
*rom
*gapps

do dis within the recovery!

Hmmm... I did it the way it says in order. This is what I did:

1) Backed up
2) Wiped Data
3) Wiped Cache
4) In another drill-down menu Wiped dalvik cache.
5) Flashed Plague 2.0
6) Flashed the latest ROM (10 2011)
7) Flashed fapps
8) Flashed the MMS fix.

The GPS works and the Camera works. However, I am unable to send an receive MMS messages. I even made sure the picture was 24k and not over 300k. Still won't send.

Also, you the guys said they are got it working are sending pictures, correct? One guy awhile back just sent text and it didn't use MMS, it used SMS. Just making sure.

When I go back to the original backup (original kernal that I got with the phone) MMS works fine. However, reinstall like about and MMS still wont work. SMS however does. I can send and receive messages fine. I just can't send and receive MMS that works fine with the original kernal.

No flashing mms fix? You flash it right before gapps....
Also wipe /boot /system /data /cache, dalvik-cache /sd-ext before flashing.

Hmmm... Tried it both ways. Can send text messages fine. However, MMS does not work. It sits at sending...

Took these steps after backing up my phone and I am in CWM-based Recovery

1) wipe data/factory reset
2) wipe cache partition
3) go into advanced and selected Wipe Dalvik Cache and Wipe Battery Status
4) back one menu and in mounts and storage selected format /boot, format /cache, format /data, format /system. I tried to format /sd-ext but it failed.
5) back at main menu I selected install zip from sdcard.
6) selected choose zip from sdcard and selected Plague_2.0.zip.
7) selected choose zip from sdcard and selected CM-7.1.0-LG-LW690-10182011-signed.zip.
8) selected choose zip from sdcard and selected Cricket-MMS-Fix_signed.zip
9) selected choose zip from sdcard and selected gapps-gb-20110613-signed.zip
10) back to main menu and selected reboot.

I changed the order of 8 and 9 and same results. Can send and receive text messages just can't send and receive MMS messages.

Just curious if your file names are the same as mine? Maybe I have one that isn't correct.

Just did the normal wipes and did not do MMS-Fixed. But everything else was the same. I logged in and activated my google account. Made sure everything loaded and updated. Rebooted phone. Waited to see if anything else updated. Nothing else updated so I tried sending a picture, same thing. Reloaded my original and it sent out fine. Loaded BobZhom08222011 and the MMS worked fine on that but the wifi doesn't. Tried reloading the one before the same way and still an issue. MMS still not working with the rom CM-7.1.0-LG-LW690-10182011-signed.zip.

Put mms patch after everything. Still is froze on sending.. again if I use the original or te other old rom it. Works flawlessly.

EDIT: It works. Finally!!! Backed that puppy up real quick. Thanks for your help... I just let it sit at the sending... A couple hours later someone sent me a MMS picture and noticed that my sent. After that, everything worked. Just had to wait. Basically, I installed Plague, the Rom, and then the GAPPS after wipping/backing up. Went into accounts and set my gmail up. Let everything update. Then went back and installed MMS_Fixed and rebooted. Sent a picture. Then just waited. I guess I wasn't waiting enough. Just used it doing other things.

I still need to test the Bluetooth settings, wifi settings, and GPS.

Yup you had to let everything snyc in and wait and everything will work fine.
now you knw how to flash kernels and roms

Ugh. Bluetooth not working on this time. Same as one other rom I had. Complete silence. Media Head-Phones work for the music part. However, once gone into a phone call. People can't hear me and I can't hear the others. Tried on the media head-phones and on the bluetooth set I have for my car. Same issue.

Ok here's my story.

so i cleared/backup everything (accidently deleted the factory backup, but thats for another day) and installed plague, but when i went to install CM7.1.0-LG-LW690-10182011 i get the status 7 error. I looked around the net but could never find a consistant answer on what it is or how to fix it for the optimus c.
Since I did delete the factory backup I don't have anything to revert. I was able to get sammyz backside port to work but not cm7 port and thats working great minus the wifi. I'm loving the backside port but I wouldn't mind trying the cm7 port since i've been hearing all this hype about it.

Any suggestion on what what this status 7 error is when flashing cm7?
