Nvrmind i got it, after several attempts and uninstalls an reinstalls i finally got it. For those who are running Windows 7 or Vista and are having trouble in finding and selecting the MS690.dll on LGNTPS, make sure that when your installing LGNTPS and get to the point to register the MS690.dll that you first right click on the Reggie.exe go to properties and under the Compatibility tab Check the "Run this program in compatibilty mode for" box and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" Hit Apply and OK and that should do it. Thank you so much Joneidy for this post .

so everytime i try to register the ms690.dll this comes up:

HRESULT == 0X80020009
Exception occurred.

so when i go ahead and try to select the ms690.dll file from the dll in lgnpst it's not there except for C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 2.0\LGNPST_Utility2.dll

what am i doing wrong?

Ok Im stuck and really could use some help, I called metro pcs and got my mdn, min and sid numbers and have them programmed. Then my esn and meid was all 0's so I went to the link posted earlier and used qpst to input those. I now have all the information appears to be correct but I am stuck in searching for service mode still. When I go into phone in menu I get
Code:
sw version ms690zv4
PRL Version 65535 (which I am pretty sure is supposed to be 3019 or 3020)
ERI Version is 1003
STATUS MENU
Mobile Network Type - Unknown
Service State - Out of Service
Roaming - Not roaming
Mobile Network State - Disconnected
Any help on getting this to work would be great

just some info.. maybe something to try b4 using the lgnpst method.. i recently helped a guy unbrick his phone in this method.. granted.. this is really only helpful if ur planning on flashing a rom or have flashed a rom and have a backup.. but when ur phone is stuck on the lg screen, plug it into ur computer and see if it is listed as a fastboot device in your device manager.. if so you and u can copy either joneidys recovery or the getitnowmoarketing recovery to your sd card if not already there, via a microsd card reader, or another phone with sd.. you can use fastboot to flash the recovery image to your phone and then reboot into recovery.. if you have a backup you can restore it.. if not u can flash to a new rom.. this will however not do anything for people on stock and trying to get back to stock. you first have to download fastboot and then using the command prompt navigate to the fastboot folder and the command is: fastboot flash recovery recoveryimagenamehere.img when thats done.. pull your battery and hold home+vol down and power to boot to recovery

this will get you to recovery mode

EDIT: if your phone doesnt show up in the device manager as a fastboot device, make sure u have the phones drivers installed.. also if still not showing as a fastboot device,, try holding back+vol down and power to force it into bootloader mode from power off

hi i had bricked my phone using rom manager and i ended up buying another one but now i read this thread so i figure i might as well see if itll work. so this is what ive done so far. downloaded the lg drivers (even tho when i plug my working phone in to the computer is doesnt show up in LGNPST) then i let my battery die at boot logo screen. now i pressed all the buttons and pluged it in and its at the s/w upgrade screen, then i plugged it in to the computer and the computer tries to install driver from windows and it says "instert disk" which i dont have cuz neither one of my phones came with a disk. and the LGNPST isnt showing up the phone under emergency. Please help

okay so i got the LGNPST to recognize the phone under emergency and i selected the .bin file but i cant find MS690.dll . The only .dll file that appears is LGNPST_Utility2.dll . Do i need to download MS690.dll or how do i find it?

*note- i already tried with LGNPST_Utility2.dll and it said error, so i guess i NEED the MS690.dll.

*edit - i found MS690.dll. But its under Model/MTP . when i click to add a .dll in LGNPST this .dll doesnt show up. still need help being able to select MS690.dll in LGNPST

You need to register the .dll file. Just drop it on top of reggie.exe. And it will be visible on LGNPST.

PS Make sure to have Adminitrator rights when dropping the .dll on top of reggie.exe.

i dropped it on reggie.exe and i got this

HRESULT == 0x80020009

Exception occurred.

And the only thing i can click is Okay. After i click Okay , a couple new things pop up in the MTP folder. And the .dll is still not available in LGNPST

*edit - I dont know if this helps you at all but when i hover my mouse over MS690.dll it says "File description: LGNPST_MS690 Module" If LGNPST is under the file description I would think it would be registered in LGNPST but it still doesn't show up

You are getting that error because you don't have full admin privileges. BTW what windows are you running?

Plug in the phone and run lgnpst, look on the right side, if there is a bunch of 0's you need this guide:
[GUIDE] How To Restore Service If You've Lost Your MEID

If on the side of lgnpst your phone number and other random numbers appear, you probably need to update your prl, this guide will help you:
Tutorial: Manual update 3020 prl

If you manage to get service but your phone number is wrong and not zeros I am working on a fix for this, hang tight...

Default On a Mac?

Hi, I take it from the drivers you mention that you have a windows machine. I got to the point of having the right key combination to get the software upgrade screen. USB finally is recognized, even though it's not in fasboot mode. However, it's recognized as a modem, and fastboot and adb don't recognize it. Anyway, what should I do after I get that screen on a mac?

Man on a MAC you will not be able to unbrick it. In order to unbrick the phone you need to run a program called LGNPST.exe. If you really have to do it on a MAC you will need to install windows as a Virtual Machine. Then follow the whole guide.

Hope you get the phone back.

Default No need to let battery die

[QUOTE=joneidy;2882853]So many users have been using Rom Manager and are getting stuck at the Lg Logo. Well now there`s a way to unbrick your phone and avoid the need of a replacement.

To get your phone to be recognized by the pc, you need to let the battery die. In other words let the phone shutdown by itself while it is at the LG Logo. When the phone is off, press and hold this combination of keys: Vol Down + Back key + Camera + Power button. With the keys hold down plug your charger. (AC connected to the wall) Your phone should boot to S/W Upgrade mode. Then connect it to the pc.

Thank you for the great tutorial. Worked Perfectly. A little trick that i found is to plug the phone into the charger without the battery in. When it say insert battery hold down vol down + back + camera and power and insert the battery. I somehow did it by myself no need to let the battery die. Thanks again

Reboot the PC. If that doesn't work reinstall the drivers.

After being up half the night and trying again in the morning to stop that Lg logo from flashing. Why when i held the power, up, camera, and home button and pushed the battery in, the phone booted back up like nothing ever happened. The only change to the phone is no recovery

type *.* as the file name and the bin will show up if it's in that folder.

Now make sure that LGNPST and drivers are installed on your pc correctly. (Go here if you need to install LGNPST and drivers. Follow the guide until where you need to open LGNPST.

Then Open up LGNPST and make sure that the program recognizes the phone. It should be under the EMERGENCY tab. (Dont worry if is says UNKNOWN under Model).

Now Select the dll file. The file name is MS690.dll where it says dll.
Then Download this file and select it as the .bin file. The file name should end as .bin (So need to unzip to somewhere on your pc)

Then click start. Let the process get to 100%

Now your phone will try to start up but the battery will blink or charge. If it`s blinking all you have to do is: plug it to the wall let it charge a little bit, then turn it on. If it charges then let it charge a little and then turn it on.

Your phone will be back to stock mode. And also unbricked.

Hope this helps.
it also works to remove battery, do buttons then plug in. right into emergency/dev mode. in lgnpst install scr, eri in emergency then prl. go to "meid fix" thread with qxdm and reprogram from all zeroes. you can skip the write esn line, probably won't work. then you're back to 2.2.1 stock. gingerbreak to root. easy way to downgrade from 2.2.2.

Unhappy

Hello I wonder if you can help me I seem to have bricked my LG Optimus Chat C550 Android phone by using a rom manager and it didnt like it. Now all I get when I turn on my phone is an LG boot screen and its stuck and the lights on the qwerty pull out keyboard flash on and off, the computer dont recognise the phone when plugged in by USB cable. Have tried your suggestion but my C550 has no camera button and the back key is not a key as such its a 'touch' sensitive key - the only proper button keys are the send and end buttons and the volume up and down button and the pull out qwerty keyboard - am I stuffed do you reckon? please help if you can I really liked this phone before I bricked it . Thanks in advance for any help/advice. Andy from Ireland.
