Every time I download an application from Market I get an error saying " Package file is invalid." Then I can't download the app. Do you know how to fix this?

You need to flash apps2sd and then install it from the play store. It worked for me, unfortunately it's pretty glitch-y. I love this rom but if Bob were to script apps2sd it would be even better.
Hello I'm new to the forums. I am having the same problems as ZOOLAHiSHKOBOB. I am unable to download app from the play store. I have been able to download apps2sd and install it but I don't know what to do to fix the market. Can anyone guide me step by step on how to do it? Or link me to a guide. Thank you.
have any of you wiped every partition and then reflashed the rom? or are you trying to save your current flash?
I've actually re flashed the ROM 5 times already hoping that it would fix it. I've followed all the procedures involve during and after flashing a ROM. For example; wiping all user data, signature verify and flashing the ROM. I've never had this problem with any other ROM except for bobs CM7.2. I really love this ROM so far because it lets me use my Iphone headphones on it to play and pause music. I would hate losing that and going back to CM 7.1. If anyone can help me figure out exactly the cause of the problem and a fix that would be greatly appreciated. I also want to mention that after flashing the ROM so many times that I've come to the conclusion that after a while the market stops working. Reason being is because I have been able to install all of my apps and when i get to a certain point in time it just doesn't want to do it anymore. Also just to clarify I get the "Package file is invalid" error. I've tried everything from re flashing, wipe /cache, wipe /Dalvik-cache, and the market fix app etc. But nothing has resolved the problem. Someone mention the apps2sd app in the market, I was able to download and install it, but I don't know what to do with it. All help is appreciated thanks.
It must be something with the rom then, I've had the same issues with it as well, but I haven't used it much since playing with the ICS=themed OV rom. if you don't mind not having ADB over wireless, it's pretty much the same experience with out the market crashes. I can't remember if Reppards rom has headphone functionality...

you could try taking the gapps, and replacing the old vending.apk with the new vending.apk.
this is the market/play stor app repectively. download a app backup tool and the market should be updating too as you do this. make sure have the play store, then back that app up.
At the computer, make a copy of the gapps and name it whatever you wish,
open it up and delete /system/app/vending.apk
get the play store app you just backed up and copy it to the computer renaming it vending.apk
place this new vending.apk into the gapps where you just deleted the old apk
Factory reset your device and flash this over your existing rom.

This is to fix market^ use "es file explorer" or "root explorer" this goes for ALL roms
Thank BobZhome, not me.....
Edit: sorry posted this in the wrong thread, but this still applies to his and other roms.

You need root permissions, but you can move it (I think) to your SD card or some other folder on your phone....MOVE not COPY

Did you install gapps? And it may be a software issue related to the kind of router you use.....I had an old phone that was a Windows Mobile Phone and it would work with WiFi just fine, but when I installed android on it, it wouldn't find my router but found all of my neighbors

Your backside port does the same thing but it seems to connect faster than bobs build. that is strange because its happened since the first 2.3 rom i tried. I expected to hear it was just a bug. Thank you for your time it was very appreciated
Hello. I have this rom on my phone and am not getting any data connection. I tried updating the roaming list but all that did was kill my signal completely. If anyone could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Once you update roaming list you are supposed to wait for 15 minutes or reboot....
I just noticed that I can't access the SD card when i plug my phone in the computer anymore, USB Mass Storage isn't working. The notification that USB is plugged never appears in the phone.
I've factory reset the phone and cleared dalvik cache. I also fixed permissions, but none of these worked. This used to work in Bobz's 7.1 versions.
Anyone have any idea how to fix? Thanks in advance.

you probably plugged your phone into a charger that wasnt meant for the phone, and it blew out that part of the usb. it happened to mine, all the chargers look a like now...

I've plugged my phone into so many other chargers and haven't had a problem.
Also if you blow ur USB, ur screwed if you brick
I just installed Reppard's 7.1 and I still can't get USB Mass Storage to work, so I guess the data part of my USB did get blown out. I did purchase a new microUSB cable and it coincided with this breaking.

Because its not the right cable it happens....or that cable could be partially damaged or ur USB is...
I posted about this in several forums a few months ago, but no one seemed to take me seriously then. Now it's become a true problem I cannot ignore any longer. This drive-by vulnerability allows an infected webpage to take over your phone if you simply load the webpage up in your browser. With the combination of Flash-Player vulnerabilities announced last nite, this is a truly huge problem. Just visiting a bad webpage could allow your phone to be taken over, sending sms to premium numbers, stealing your personal info, and even initiating phone calls to premium numbers. And that's just the tip of the iceburg!
I will not be working on other issues until I manage to get a properly working interstitial dialog inserted into the download process. TBH, I can't believe AOSP has allowed this behaviour, and I will do what I can to get it changed upstream. Till then, please please be careful when visiting websites you are not familiar with. If you see a download beginning in the background without your interaction (ie you didn't click on a link to download something, it just starts on it's own), your best bet is to pull your battery, put it back in and boot into recovery, then do a full wipe/format and re-install the ROM. Hopefully you have TB backups to re-install your apps afterwards. This is actually dangerous enough for me to recommend such drastic measures!
i would just like to add for help and info that i had the same problem as ZOOLAHiSHKOBOB with the "invalid package file" message and i flashed apps2sd and my titanium backup worked like a charm. thank you Ownagecat for the link
Try moving and/or deleting the 01mvdalvik file out of init.d, located here: /system/etc/init.d/01mvdalvik, clear market cache and data, reboot recovery, wipe cache/dalvik_cache, reboot.
Hey Bob, I'm new to the posting part so forgive me if my etiquette is off. I'm getting a "Package file is invalid" on the market after flashing The Godzilla Rom. The market worked at first then started giving me errors. Reboot, then works a little. Now not at all. I did everything else (clearing caches and such, flashed Godzilla 3.0, etc) but I can't find 01mvdalvik file to try that. Any suggestions? Let me know what other information I can include to make this easier. Thanks!

The Godzilla ROM is for the Optimus V, and it's ICS, this fix was for any gingerbread ROM, ICS is completely different I currently have Godzilla ROM on my phone, I have no problems, try reflashing. I signed in on first boot. When I did that, all my apps were downloaded automatically (and annoyingly all added to the home screens).

Sammyz, does the "Godzilla ROM" work on the Optimus M?
If so, is there anything I have to configure in order to make it boot properly? (Replace modules, modify build.prop, etc?)
