I was just about to post on this too lol yeah the screen off animation is still happening even though it's turned off and the screen on lag on my phone is bad can someone tell me how to fix this? inb4 live wallpaper (haven't tried it yet but the lag wasn't this bad without one on reppards build)

EDIT: just seen that PG is on top of this so... nevermind i'm sure he'll fix it

fix atm is to turn screen on/off animations, surface dithering off, and reppards use of a live wallpaper seem to help too.

I press n hold the power button and mine comes back on almost instantly, power menu does as well, but press back n back to home screen we are.

Having a screen off profile set in a cpu speed control app will increase the lag, seems like the cpu apps like to change profile before the screen can light up causing the whole process to slow.

I was having the same issues for awhile, I attributed them to restored data in TiBu, I could be wrong but I reinstalled my rom and stopped it from loading any data other than a few specific apps and it stopped happening...

I would use GNM or CWM as they both play nice making nandroid backups of ext partitions. Joneidys does not.

LOL. I wasn't trying to restore system data. It was something that migtated over using the restore missing apps with data, option not the restore missing apps with system data. I think it thinks settings is an app or something...

If you used tibu you should try a fresh flash and really pick thru the apps u wanna restore. I had the same issue as you and I think that's what fixed it for me...*SHRUGS*

CWM for the OM & OC are linked in my OP, its not official yet so its not listed in RM, but koush will be adding it soon.

Safest way atm to install the CMW I ported and submitted to koush is with Flash Image GUI ($.99 in the market).

So atm there is no way to flash a ROM from RM, you have to boot into CWM (or alternate recovery) to do it.

You will have to describe the situation better? Bricked means it won't power on. I assume You mean stuck at the lg screen, Have you pulled the battery? Can you boot to recovery?

try the get out of fastboot method first.. it usually works from soft brick at lg screen.. just flash a recovery img through fastboot and then restore a backup all should be fine

Yeah try that fastboot one first. I forgot about that.

Also, your old phone was saveable. The ****** at the counter in the metro store was prolly stumped but I could have helped you restore service. I'm currently using a phone that was completely zeroed, ESN MEID and the whole partition containing that data was wiped.

WTF The "mentally challenged person" at the counter? can't say r-**** around here? And to think the official term used to be feeble minded moron, were so damn PC I can't use the word ret@rded? It's a perfectly accurate description....

Try powering the phone down. If that doesn't work, reply back to the restore MEID thread and I'll continue helping you there.

Here ya go folks, a proper port of CM7 for the LG Optimus M. Donations are greatly appreciated, but are not required!!
  • Author: PlayfulGod
  • Developers: PlayfulGod and BobZhome
  • Current Version: 09092011
  • Description: CM7 port for the LG Optimus M. Well, let's be honest. Unless you're living under a rock, you probably know what Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) is. Furthermore, you should know what the CyanogenMod project is. However, if a rock is really your home and you'd like to learn more, please visit their site: http://www.cyanogenmod.com

People I wish to thank

  • zefie - for the original port & repo from the thunderg to thunderc.

Note on Version Protocol: Current version protocol is CM-7-7.2-LG-MS690-DATE-signed.zip.
Note 1: Using a cpu oc app and settings the min cpu speed up to around 245 seems to help the screen wake up issue.

  • Clockworkmod Recovery (CWM): recovery.img Rebuilt on 9/1/2011 to fix USB mass Storage in recovery.
md5sum: bb29949bc5680354d54c71c1b6af38e6 md5sum: 87ffe96c5e94531d96d018e09c701581 How to Install ClockworkMod Recovery:

Its been reported that fastboot is disabled in the bootloader on the OM. An app called Flash Image GUI seems to install CWM with ease. And there is always the terminal method:
  • Open command prompt
adb shelladb sumount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock5 /systemcat /sdcard/flash_image > /system/bin/flash_imagechmod 755 /system/bin/flash_imageflash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.imgreboot recoveryYou can also install via a terminal program, but again the recovery.img and flash_image must both be on the root of your sd card
sumount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock5 /systemcat /sdcard/flash_image > /system/bin/flash_imagechmod 755 /system/bin/flash_imageflash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.imgreboot recovery

This installed PlayfulGod's recovery and booted into it. You then must use the volume up/down keys to navigate the menu and camera button to actually access the menu/command.
I also installed the recovery using Flash Image GUI that I found a PPC geeks. I can confirm that PlayfulGod's recovery works well. It does have a error message at the bottom, but that doesn't seem to screw up any functions

  • Thanks to sillyputtyddd for the correct command syntax.

Note: To boot into recovery do the following:
  • Turn off phone, hold down the power button + volume down + home button.
  • Thanks to papasmurf520 for the key combo.
