Default Wrong picture attachments

I have an LG-P500h and when I take movie shots with the phone and then go to the gallery to view in slide show mode somehow it is replacing the starting picture of the movie with a totally different thumbnail picture. These thumbnail pics are ones that have been deleted from previous uploaded movies. What are "chunk_0, chunk_1" files in the android data folders under local-video-thumbs, could they be storing previous pics from deleted files?

Thanks for your assistance

Welcome to the forums, cleanfreak.

It sounds like your device's Gallery app is storing over-size pieces of some recorded media.

It might be a good idea to start fresh with both the camera app and the Gallery app by clearing all cache and data, then rebooting your device.

Go in to the application manager and use the clear data and clear cache buttons: menu > settings > applications > manage applications > menu > sort by "all."

Thought I might try another approach to describe what's happening and see if someone might have had the same problem. Seems that the phone has been retaining "snap shots" of movies that have either been downloaded or recorded and then places those "snap shot" photos onto new videos that are recorded and stored. I've cleared all "chunk" files and tmp files through Thinkfree software hoping they might be embedded into one of those files and had no success. Any suggestions?

Default Fix for "wrong pic attachments"

If you have been following this issue relating to thumb pics attaching to new video clips the solution is quite simple. Dealing with this cannot be accomplished through the Thinkfree application on the phone as there are hidden folders only visible by linking your phone to a computer. You will find a folder called "DCIM" and a sub folder will have been created called ".thumbnails". Here you will find the annoying pics that have been corrupting your new video clip title pics. Delete all files that are no longer necessary and this should eliminate the problem. Hope this helps others that have had the same issues.

Cheers

I have the same files in LG Optimus S. They are in a folder named picasa-thumbs. Is there a way to open the file to see what it is? I'm wondering if the file is associated with Picasa web album. There is a common link, the fiule on the phone is dated 08/13/12. Pictures were sent to our online Picasa album on 8/13/12, however deleted before I saw them, that's why I would like to open on my laptop if possible (windows 7 64bit) . I am new to Android phone (this is my first) and totally clueless to everything other than transferring files to my laptop. Any help appreciated, :-)
