Optimus T + Washing Machine = :(
Washing machine threads are so prevalent that I hesitate to create a new one... but my Optimus T is doing something different than what is reported on other threads.
The initial part is the same as everyone else's story. Phone, washing machine, oops, remove battery + SIM + SD.
After putting it in rice for a few hours (and then plucking a stray bit of rice out of the charging port), I tried plugging it in and turning it on. I got the LG logo (yay!), but then it went to an error screen that starts out with instructions to push volume-up for a RAM dump, and volume-down to boot into recovery. After a short memory dump section, it says that it encountered an error in the code (in a file with a .c extension). I'd post a screen print, but I didn't get a good enough image. (I can try with a different camera if anyone really wants it.)
The same thing happens if I remove the battery and try again, but sometimes the .c module with the error changes. I could imagine this happening if the memory address or data lines were shorting together. So I've put the phone back in the rice (along with the battery this time, just in case). We'll see what happens tomorrow.
One thing I haven't tried is the master reset, home+volume-down+power. Obviously, I don't want to start from scratch unless I really have to! Although I don't guess it would be the worst thing... most things are in the cloud. "Note Everything" automatically does backups, and my apps are backed up automatically with Titanium so that will be easier. I'll lose some text messages, and probably some other stuff I can't remember, and of course I'll have to spend time getting it all just right again. At least this will be a good opportunity to start out with the nandroid backup that I never got around to doing. :P
