sammyz did a lot of work on the Optimus M, maybe you could see if he would be inclined to think about working on the M+.
Just PM him, he is all over this forum helping out.

There is no base rom....without a base, there's no way to port it. I'm waiting on PG (PlayfulGod) to make a CM7 rom.

It would be hard to compare because there totally different versions and this is very stable where the other is still beta. I personally like the increase in speed but the missing abilities, mainly hd video, can be a major turn off to some.
If you think about it, they're both the same. Backside is what AOKP is on GB and AOKP is what Backside is on ICS. They both have a lot of customizations, still fast, and larger than most builds.
Or like comparing Ginger to Ice cream..
Texture, consistency, flavor, physical appearance, and everything in-between is just too different, and share nothing in common.
Hey everyone. I haven't checked back here in months, but finally did because I haven't seen any updates for my phone. It looks like the development for this ROM is done, where should I go next and what have you guys done? I didn't expect this, but certainly understand it. Thanks...In the mean time I suppose I'll be reading around trying to figure out what to do with my phone.

Thanks. I am honestly getting sick of this phone, the ROM made it run smoother but I still find it lagging and freezing when opening facebook, and it can happen doing other things. I think I'm gonna swing for the $30 deal on the Kyocera Rise on Black Friday (Target) but if I don't, I will take advantage of the information you've provided me.

I don't know what build your running ,but the 01312012 build has less bugs.
Are you overclocked ...i'm set at 480 min.and 806 Max. With the interactiveX governor, fast and smooth!
They throttled my 3g speeds last month cause i went over my usage, but i kicked up my max to 844 with no ill effects, 3g ran just as if i wasn't throttled! No lagging on this phone.
If your not overclocked you should give it a try. You should start at 480 min and 768 max, use the interactive X gov.
Mine is stable at 844max. But every phone is different

H.T.H.

I'm on the latest build and I am overclocked. The phone is smooth but facebook is always garbage and it just tends to get slowed down sometimes. If I keep up on moving apps to SD card and deleting junk and what not, the phone is pretty smooth, it just has its moments.
you will need to modify this portion of the script and save...
from this:
/system/xbin/echo "8192" > /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:0
to this:
/system/xbin/echo "2048" > /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:0
then delete:
05mountsd/06mountdl/11mvdalvik
from system/etc/init.d, and add the now corrected 40ad2sdx
keep in mind that this requires you to have an sd-ext, and this modification should be done via pc, before moving to sd card for flashing... sd-ext size=internal size... fyi, illusion2.3.7 has this already baked in... ;-)

I'd say to hit up Android Central Forums. Phandroid Optimus V forums have evolved into more of a support center, while Android Central is teeming with development. I'm there way more often, while l still lurk around here.

Ditto on the Android Central recommendation. And a newer ROM is definitely worth installing on the OV. The Bobzhome and Quattrimus ICS ROMs are both very good; the Bobz Jelly Bean one also is quite usable, although it does have a few things that need to be fixed.

What device do you have ...this forum and the roms are for the LG optimus v.
Some roms random reboot, but there's usually a fix for that or after a few days the roms get less buggy as it settles down on your phone.
No trouble installing apk's.
You need to find a rom specifically for your device.

Can u post a link and I have yalls device as well I love it I got apk fixed (the problem was not having gapps)what's the highest over clock for this phone
I think if you have a v built before July 2011 you can be stable at 864 depends,
I have an old v running 480 min. 806 max. With the interactive x governor, but it was stable at 844, although battery life suffers!
Still have my OV and still running BACKside IHO on it. It's very stable and a great piece of work overall. I came back here to poke around and see if there's anything new, but have decided to stick with BACKside until I get a new phone.
I was on the latest build and it acted slightly funky on occasion, so I decided to do one last flash with the 0131 build, as the people above suggested it was the most stable, along with Brotherswing's Quicksilver theme. I'm not a flashing fanatic, so this'll probably be my last flash until I upgrade my phone in a few months. Thanks for all the effort people have put into coding and community here!
i am running BACKside-IHO-VM670-05022012 - it's great, an amazing improvement. It's the first time i have flashed anything, and it is like having a new phone.
BUT one thing - i can no longer get into recovery at all - just hangs on the LG symbol. But if I power it up, I can start up the phone and everything is fine (after pulling the battery). I have a backup file on the phone in the cwm/backup folder. But how do I get to it if i can't get into recovery?
I may have deleted the wrong files, not sure - i was trying to make some space, as I would like to repartition the SD card (I gave Link2SD too much of the space, and would like to have more for making backups (ahem) and also for camera etc...)
But, not sure what to do now - Should I try to flash a recovery with the Flash gui? I have looked, but I don't see anything about not being able to get into recovery mode - I have tried it both by choosing the reboot intorecovery option and also by holding the power, vol down & home buttons...any advice?
Thanks! (And thanks for the ROM, it is so cool to see how much better the phone works - makes me wonder why any company would cripple its products the way VM did with the stock VM670)
OK, i am an idiot, nvm...I must have done this before but anyway.. I did this (from the github):
1. Place the IHO recovery .img file in your SD card’s root folder.
2. Run a terminal emulator. If you don’t have one, download Terminal Emulator from the Market.
3. Enter the following commands:
su
cd sdcard
flash_image recovery iho-vm670-recovery-4.0.1.4.3.img

Reason: added flash recovery step
Try reading this if you get a chance: Do not Factory Reset your Rooted Phone
Don't worry about the title of the thread, it's just where my ROM and recovery flashing tutorial wound up.

hey i just downloaded this rom and its my first time rooting. everything went smoothly and is working fine. only problem is where's the time and date on the notification bar? how do i enable it? help!!!
Can anyone tell me where I can get a swype keyboard add-on. Seems the only screen keybd on BACKside ROM is the Android one? There are a couple of sliding keyboards on market, but not Swype anymore?
I just got my OV on Wednesday and wanted to get it rooted and ROMed as quickly as possible. It was a heck of a lot faster than my Samsung Intercept that fell off the roof of my car, even straight out of the box, but I was always having troubles with running out of memory on the old phone, so I thought I'd nip it in the bud early on this one.

Go here for swype, you well have to do an email create an account thing, but it is free.
