I actually bought a used V as a backup for when this finally dies (if ever). I'm not going to buy a 4G phone until I can have true 4G LTE in my area with a plan I can afford. I figure I have another two years at the least.

My issue isn't with how fast games are running (I can drudge through the bits of lag, its not that bad) or the screen freezing. Its with touching the screen in two places at the same time. I've read about the touch screen CPU spikes, where every time you touch the screen the CPU jumps to 100%. Which would make sense to why when I'm playing games the button pad (on the right side of my screen) hits the corresponding button I'm holding down on the directional pad (on the left side of my screen) and visa versa. Thus making most games, especially games that require jumping in certain directions and hitting two buttons at the same time almost impossible to play.

Performance governor, when playing game go up to 600MHz on the min (back down when thru). That should help with the lag.
Again: Try a kernel and see if it helps.
Just wipe cache partition and dalvik cache. If it doesn't help, wipe cache partition and dalvik cache and flash another.

I did a lot of research after the ZV9 debacle, and found that Bobzhome's and mgr666's kernels had the best performance for gaming. I currently use my own kernel built from Bob's source, running at 480/806 on the savagedZen governor. I don't get the multi-touch cpu spikes.
