Give Watchdog a try. It sits in the background and will alert you if any apps misbehave (eat too much CPU), then it will give you the option to force close the misbehaving app.
If you use "connection tracker" in conjunction with watchdog you will know which apps are hoging power and sneaking on the internet

But yeah, basically I think the only thing not working is the voice command key (correct me if I'm wrong) but that can be remapped to function again
Ah, yes. Forgot about that, I never use it. I've remapped that key to MEDIA NEXT for my psychotically random playlists when doing housework and such. I just have to have a physical key for that one!
Ok guys, thanks for your answers, I have another question, not so silly this time.
there are 3 roms that caught my eye here (for the optimus v) I have try them all, and I don't see any difference between them.
1) mrg666: CM7.2-RC0-IHO-MiRaGe. latest version (Dec 1, 2011)
2) JerryScript: BACKside (not pure). latest version (Nov 22, 2011)
3) BobZhome: CM7.2.0 RC0-BobZ. latest version (November 19, 2011)
I have seen the change logs for (2) and (3), the one for (1) I just couldn't find it anywhere.
would you be so kind of telling me the differences and also recommending the most stable one (that would be for my wife, I don't want her phone rebooting or anything like that because she is not a ROM junkie like myself )
I'm running the BACKside, but had tried the latest MiRaGe ROM but was having problems with the GPS and Bluetooth being a bit unstable. The newest BACKside is pretty solid, it even allows me to use the Honeycomb 3D-SB icons Theme.
Hi, I was just trying to transfer files though BT between my 2 optimus v, one running MiRage latest CM7 and the other Backside latest version, both phones can fin eachother and pair, but the transfers were impossible from and to each device, I tried pictures, video, contacts, etc, nothing worked, even tried with some market BT app, still nothing, then I flash the BACKside phone back to stock and try again, files from mirage successfully transfer to stock rom, file from stock rom successfully transfer to mirage.
Now I'm about to install on both phones RobZhome latest CM7 to test.
Question, is there something in the roms that might make them incompatible with each other in terms of bluetooth transfers?
Hey jerry just curious if you got around to testing my app
I looked into the apk, but haven't had the time to test yet. I'm of course a bit apprehensive, I don't have a spare OV, and I use mine as my daily phone. I will let you know what I find out though.
Ok if i can find my opv ill test it. and off topic do you know anyone who knows kernels who would help me. Tge trolls are out on the irc and they only make fun of you don't help.

Bobz does allot of work with the Iho kernel you may want to try to get in contact with him. If you check the site he has created a rom for all the types of optimus ones
So, according to a front page post earlier, ADW EX is going to be one of Google's $0.10 apps soon. Since ADW is already baked into BACKside, what are the implications of installing the paid version on our phones?
Also, on a side note, does anyone know how ADW is with a Honeycomb tablet? Got a Dell Streak 7 and the forums here don't seem very active.

Thanks!
I use(d) ADW EX with no problems at all. I did freeze the plain Adw that came with the rom after I installed ex and that seemed to work well.

Excellent tip! I didn't think of freezing the built-in ADW! Either way, I'm going to grab it when it goes on sale for $0.10. Seen some screen shots of it's new built-in ICS theme and how it looks on Honeycomb and I do like!
Hey jerry, i think youll appreciate this. I recently got the wildfire S with GB stock. Guess what i found then deodexed. Please try this to see if it works, its the ported activation app, this will mean people can activate from your ROM, no switch back awesome huh? and im also attaching the swype that comes with the phone, lots of people seem to hate the beta
I tried the VirginTool.apk which I assumed was the Activate.apk but the app did not install.

Why are you having it plugged in when starting your computer. The BIOS sees it and doesn't know what to do. You can fry your computer system doing that. Its trying to boot from your phone.
The app "market fix" fixed my market problems with insufficient space and invalid package but temporarily, but now the issue is back. Is their another way to fix it without using the paid version of Titanium Backup?
Note- if you used Titanium Backup to integrate davlik into system, undo it before you flash a new build, otherwise you will have to reflash gapps and sign back into google accounts and reinitialize the gapps.
Changes 12072011:
-First build from JerryScript repository, now BACKside changes to IHO are visible online
-Synced with IHO and CM7
-reverted a commit the reverted a commit that made our camera work better , some other small fixes to camera should make recording start faster and some poorly made files play better, and cm camera now supports touch to focus properly
-fix to minimal ring lockscreen
-added Xmas egg
Thanks to Blarf, BobZhome, mrg666, Whyzor, LeslieAnn, the list goes on and on!
Happy Holidays Everyone!

New build seems awesome. Are you supposed to not have to reinstall everything? It seems the last couple builds I have but I may have been doing full wipes. This time I just wiped the caches and installed, surprisingly zippier than I remember. What's the xmas egg? although I guess that ruins the fun...

Oh, where can I find a full changelog type dealy?
Thanks, all credit goes to Blarf, BobZhome, mrg666, and the CM team.
You don't have to restore if you just wipe cache/dalvik.
The xmas egg is fast tapping on phone model in about phone screen.
I usually don't give that info out, spoils the hunt, but it is for Xmas!
(I don't think there's a better one available for a ROM called BACKside)
Full change log is at the bottom of the first post of this thread.
