Just to let people know instagrams built in camera app crashes the camera but so does any camera app I've tried other than the native. All you have to do is reboot and everything is aok
Well never got flixster working but, directv updated there app and now you can stream movies and shows from any of the big name movie channels you subscribe and since I subscribe to all I am happy it works flawless on backside and linked with link2sd.

I don't see the point in adding a root checker to make an app not work....I think they would be losing money.......

I've never had a problem with my camera working with any app I've tried (well, except on Quattrimus...)
Paper camera, camera FX, etc, all work fine for me.
Loving the ROM, but I wanted to let you know something weird I've been experiencing. I travel a lot and am switching timezones all the time. I've noticed something weird. I use the Sense-style clock and I notice that when I come out of airplane mode, the Sense clock updates the time, but the status bar clock does not. So I go to options and restart the status bar.
I also recently started running Watchdog Lite again, and after restarting the status bar I immediately get a warning about 'Android Core (Home Screen)' taking up too much CPU. I clear the warning but it just comes back until I reboot the phone. Before this my battery was getting slaughtered, which is why I reinstalled Watchdog Lite.
After a reboot everything is fine, but it's a weirdo thing I thought I'd ask about.
Running latest build, The blues theme. Clean wipe install. Screenshot attached.
Thanks again for all you do Jerry, you've made my phone fun again

Couple of noob questions:
1) Just downloaded the CWM Green Recovery to my SD card. How do I apply it? It is install Zip from SD card like I do to get new builds? If yes, I assume I wipe cache and dalvik like normal?
2) I also recently did the partition of my SD card using MacFelt's tutorial and did the Link2SD deal, but I might have read a couple pages back that when I flash a new build of Backside, I might have to do a few more steps because of this. Can someone map that out for me?

Put it on your sd card.
If you are running BACKside-IHO on your phone:
1--Open the BacksideUpdater
2--Press the menu key and select Install A Recovery 3- choose the file. Reboot and enjoy. =]
Basically, do it the same way you installed a recovery before. backside updater makes it easier though. Even easier the next time we get updates, rom updates will happen all for us without us doing a thing in recovery and such.

All CM based ROMs including BACKside have init.d support built in, so that's a red herring, sorry. I haven't looked at the script yet, does it's name conflict with any of the scripts already in /ect/init.d? (there are 8 in a default build of BACKside)

There are two scripts in /etc/init.d in the zip file, neither of them conflicts with an existing script. I'm still digging....
::edit:: Might the kernel have something to do with it?

It is synced to Google so once you've downloaded the apps you will be resynced. As for texts you'll want to back those up with an app if you want to save those.
Poynt is widely considered bloatware by most. There are relatively few users to whom it's useful, such as yourself. Most people dislike the way you can't exit out of the app, even when it isn't in use. It's always running in the background, no matter what you do. That's certainly a deal breaker for me.

Sorry, this is a noob question. Just wondering what the radio refers too when speaking of VM having a new radio update. What does the new update do? Is it worth flashing the original VM Rom and updating the radio?

The radio we're referring to is the one that communicates with the cell company's towers, therefore the signal and call strength. Never flash something just to flash it. The update has been causing problems and unless you have problems with call quality I recommend that you skip it. The only time you should use that update is if you get a very poor signal in your daily usage of the phone.

Supersu wonked out on me so I switched back to super user
Still okay here, but I'm testing some things for devs over at AC so I'm always flashing new things. SuperSU is in my nandroid of BACKside, but I don't plan on reinstalling the next time I do a clean install.

Hey, has anyone ever experienced the phone not vibrating when receiving notifications?
Like, I'll be texting someone, and I'll just leave them hanging for 10 or 20 minutes because the phone was on vibrate and didn't vibrate to tell me that the text came in.

A few of us have complained about this problem after one of the early april builds. My phone does not vibrate for text messages anymore. The vibrate on my phone is confirmed being functional.
The change happened immediately after installing one of the rom updates. I did not change any settings and it happened to me. I have tried uninstalling gosms, using the stock messenger, reinstalling gosms, changing all settings I could find. Nothing fixes it.

Thank you, brotherswing for this. I was really wondering what radio people were referring to. I get a terrible signal at my house; however, the process we have to do to update seems too much of a hassle.

My phone vibrates just fine when getting a text. Did you enable vibrate in the text app. On the stock app while you are on main screen (the one that shows all your threads instead of 1 individual thread) hit menu, choose setting, notification settings and open vibrate and choose always

Okay, so I went back to all of my notification apps, and they all vibrate fine, but one. Draw Something Free, and it doesn't even make a noise when the notification volume is all the way up! It just silently pops up. Still searching for a solution. Ahhh, the frustration of a nooby phone owner.

Any significant issues still plaguing BackDoor ?
Mine needs re flashing and Im still trying to decide on Backdoor or OEM VM ROM.
Also are there folks out there that would consider doing the flash for me for a fee ?
Preferrably someone living in my neck of the woods. (South Florida)

Why would you charge people to flash it for you? There are lots of amazing guides on this website that, as long as you follow carefully, can get you pretty far. I just installed my first custom ROM yesterday (BACKside, loving it!) and just barely got the phone into Recovery (and flash a custom kernel while I was at it) last week. I'm a total noob, too.
I'm just trying to fix the Draw Something notifications. :/

No significant issues with BACKside, it has far more to offer than the stock Rom. I'm about 1800 miles away from you, or I would help. You may be able to find someone locally that can help, but if you take your time and follow Jerry's directions carefully you shouldn't have any problems doing it yourself. You have plenty of help available right here, too.

Hey I was terrified when I flashed backSIDE the first time but it's not to bad really, in fact the guy right above me and a few others helped out TREMENDOUSLY with straight forward answers to a few things that were confusing me. You might just want to go for it yourself

Jerry,
I'm such a newb! Didn't dawn on me that since I'm in front of my computer all day, I don't need 3G or WiFi turned on on my phone.... and am just now discovering the amazing battery life again. Check this lol
3 days and still at 52% battery life
Did some running around this weekend for a new entertainment center and only needed to turn on 3G twice to check something on the net. While I realize this might not be for everyone, personally I think from now on I will only turn on 3G or WiFi when I need to use it (which reminds me, I need to disable Beautiful Widgets from trying to auto update). Otherwise it'll stay off to save battery life. Good thing you don't need those turned on to get calls or texts!
I BACKside!

My BackDoor was plagued with significant issues, but some Preparation H cleared it up. I could help with your BackDoor issues for a fee.
