I added the ability to set your notification dropdown's background color to whatever you like. You can leave it the default themed image, set a color with transparency support, or have it fully transparent.

Using these settings may override theme settings, needs testing.

I can confirm. Quicksilver is updated, I used it to test these options. They work exactly as described.

Edit::quicksilver updated. Again.

Default Lock Screen (9 Circles Unlock Pattern)

Hi all, I downloaded the current build (1.3.12 and the latest version of Quicksilver- great theme by the way) and I am using the theme pack recommended to use with Quicksilver to make the icons gray and flat. In previous builds and with the previous builds of the Quicksilver theme, the unlock pattern cirlces have shown up as normal. However, now, they show up as flat and gray (as if the icon theme pack that was recommended for use with Quicksilver decided to take over). Any ideas on what might cause this? They are just a single color gray circle- nothing else. They still work, it just isn't how it has been and really doesn't look aesthetically pleasing.

Also, while I am on the subject of Quicksilver, is there a way to make the gray bar up top to have a little more depth to it? The gmail icon showing that I have mail is really hard to see and was especially hard to see when I had the same background that was shown in the screenshots. It is also hard to see the clock (it is in white) on the gray background when the gmail app is open.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions and for making nice themes.

You know, I've never tested the lock pattern issue, but I have noticed the status bar transparency bug. I went too far with transparency settings, and I'm already doing something about it in the next build. I will have a look at the lock pattern issue, I never use it myself so probably missed it in testing. Thanks for the feedback, it helps my themes improve.

Heads up, I think I got my logic backwards on the changes to the status bar background settings in the 0109 build. Setting to Theme and applying my GreenMachineTheme gives you a transparent status bar, while setting to ROM gives you the GreenMachineTheme's status bar background image, that's backwards. Sorry, will fix in next build, just use the opposite of what you normally would for now.

Kitchen is slow tonight, but the update for Quicksilver is cooking. Also, I've been inspired. I'm going to do up a pastel theme (somebody requested it, after all) but wasn't sure how I wanted it to look. Well, now I know, so there will be a new theme shortly....

I sure hope so! I've been reading up on Mint and it looks *awesome*! I had to order an install dvd from ebay tho, since I had no way to make one (long frustrating story that's posted elsewhere) and i'm practically counting the hours till it gets here.

Here is my theme for the 1-10 build. Note, this is NOT for the 1-9 build. Its some of the stuff I preferred from the other themes I've tried. Credit goes to all the themers in the OP of this thread. Thanks for the inspiration and help.

OK all you Themers. Now that we have working charging-while-powered-off thanks to tdm, I'm looking for suggestions for the first bootanimation to replace VM's.

Hey Jerry I'm still using the 12/21 build but was wondering if the new build or any build coming in the future would allow for color changing of battery percentage and signals like it does for the clock already? Also, if there would be a choice for a gradient notification bar (just black or color choice)? Personally for me just these choices alone would be good enough, without extra theming. Just to clarify I'm not whining at all, just wondering. Thanks..

The icons are a bit trickier to change, as they are resources built into the ROM, and not stand alone images. I am researching ways to change them outside of themes, but no promises for now.

Gradients may be possible as well, though that is mostly handled via prebuilt images in order to cut down on processing needs at run time. One idea that could work would be to include gradients with a single color, and the other color being transparent. Then you could set the background color, and it would bleed through the gradient image. With a few basic colors set to a transparent gradient in images, you could have virtually unlimited choices. Once again, no promises, I'm kinda thinking out loud here.

Quicksilver has been updated. Note, bootanimations are nerfed in the current build (always have VM stock) due to changes made to enable powered off charging. I'm working on a workaround, but due to family demands on my time, it may take awhile. Please be patient.
Edit : : This is for 0110

Bootanimations should still work, they should play after the VM first bootanimation. Are you saying your second bootanimation is not playing?

Looks great Ben. I've always enjoyed your themes. The current theme I use is an exact copy of your blues theme with slight changes that I prefer. I really enjoy your themes though, thank you four your contributions

Made the current theme I'm using for the 1-18 build. Decided to post it up here for anyone interested. Started with Benslgdroid's "the blues" theme then tweaked a few things to my preference.

I forgot to set the drop down background on the notification but you can use the peeping android in the settings.
Ben. You have the boot animation set to install to the wrong place. This will make the boot animation permanent even if another theme is flashed. You should change the location from "sense rom" to "cyanogen rom"

If someone has already flashed this theme and is stuck with this boot animation it can be reversed. Using a root file explorer, find where the boot animation installed, and delete the boot animation file. Brotherswing found this solution. I will find the post if need be.

I've also noticed that under the file upload tab you always leave the "Select flashable zip scripting" "update-binary" setting as "type mtd (default)". I always change mine to optimus. Maybe this is why I always have to replace the themes update binary apk with the roms update binary apk after I download the theme from the kitchen. If I don't replace this file the theme will not flash. I believe sadielynn reported the same issue earlier in this thread with having to replace the update binary apk.

updated the blues and gm blue with changes suggested by g19 for build 1-20

1-18 of the blues also has the same issues explained by g19. Probably why i didnt notice anything with the boot animation it would have over wrote each other

Leave the update-binary settings as MTD, that binary is the proper one for the Optimus V. The settings in UOT for Optimus phones are probably for one of the higher-end lines.

Thanks for the info. I bet I won't have to change the update binary apk if I do that.

::UPDATE:: Just tried it, worked perfectly. I didn't need to replace the update res apk after I downloaded the theme from uotkitchen.

I just tried to flash it, the one time I didn't test it first, and it wouldn't flash so I will be changing it back.

I decided to create my own theme to get what I want.

How do you make the status bar black all the time in the theme?
Here is my problem. When I go to the market, the status bar turns grey. When using Handcent and texting, the status bar is white.
In the UoT Kitchen, I select the status bar color to black. I must be missing a setting.

For me to keep the status bar black I have to go to CyanogenMod settings under Interface / Status bar tweaks and select ROM.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I thought I would share the theme. If you like blue, you should like this.

The theme is called Blue Marble for BACKside ROM;
1/20/2012 Build
1/25/2012 Build

Here are a few screen shots:

Looks nice. The status bar glitch your seeing comes from setting it transparent. If you didn't do that in the Uot kitchen, then it's in menu-settings-Cyanogenmod settings-interface-status bar tweaks.

I do not think I had the trasparent box check marked...

Anyway I updated the pictures and download link with the modified theme. A few tweaks and changed the battery icon to a circle which I like much better. Enjoy

So with the new addition to my family, I haven't had as much time to enjoy my digital pursuits.

I keep Quicksilver updated, but I've let my other themes get outdated. Is there any interest in updates for those? I have to budget my time very carefully these days, and if there's no demand for those themes, I won't bother. Let me know, I try to oblige, but not if there is no interest.

Edit::Quicksilver has been updated. Again.

I've decided to share all of my uot files with everyone. I'm just to busy to maintain anything but Quicksilver, so if anybody is interested in the other themes you can cook an update. This also makes it much easier for anyone who wants to use one of my themes for a base.

Absolutely adorable! I think I've found the next easter egg, been wanting to put something under mem/info for awhile now.
