Default *BACKside ROM Themes* Post your BACKside ROM themes here!

As suggested by NoNameFace, I decided to create a thread devoted to themes created specifically for the much loved BACKside ROM. Here is a list of the current (as of the 11/01 bulid) themes so far:

Note: The themes on this list should be updated for the current BACKside build, but some theme-er's probably work faster than others when a new build comes out, so double check the build before you flash. Make sure you are using a theme that was made for the build you are using

Corsair by Brotherswing Get Corsair here

Agent Orange by Brotherswing Get Agent Orange here

Quicksilver by Brotherswing Get Quicksilver here

Roon by benslgdroid Get Roon here

Grover by benslgdroid Get Grover here

Hallows by benslgdroid (for 10/17 build only!) Get Hallows Here

The Blues by benslgdroid Get The Blues here

GM Blue by benslgdroid Get GM Blue here

Transparent by djthebogan Get Transparent theme here

RYGtheme by djthebogan Get RYG theme here

CoolBlue by djthebogan Get CoolBlue here
Darker version (request) Get the Darker Version here

Think Pink by sadielynn Get ThinkPink here

RedHead by sadielynn Get RedHead here

MintyFresh by sadielynn Get MintyFresh here

Theme Reverter Flash this to return to stock theme. Get the Reverter here

Statusbar Transparency Mod Flash this if you are using a Theme Chooser theme that has a transparent statusbar to get the transparency to show. Get the mod here
How to apply a theme:
Download theme to your SD card (you may want to set up a folder titled "themes" or similar to avoid mixing up theme .zip's with ROMs and whatnot)

Boot into recovery

Backup better safe than sorry

Optional step: wipe cache & dalvik cache some say do, some say don't. If you have wiped caches before with no ill effects, I would wipe, if wiping caches gives you issues, skip it.

Choose "Install zip from SDcard"

Choose <name of theme>.zip *if you created a folder as suggested above, choose your folder, then the theme zip

Reboot

Enjoy

If I missed a theme, please let me know so I can add it to the list! I just did a quick scan of the past posts in the BACKside thread, so if I missed someone's theme, I apologize. If someone wants to post a list of themes for older BACKside builds, feel free (or PM me the links and I can add them to this post)

Hopefully, we can get everyone posting their new themes in this thread so everything will be in one place and easier to find

I have never been able to apply a theme this way. Every time I wipe the cache and dalvik and then apply a theme I have to restore my backup. Are you sure about these instructions? And step #2 should be backup.

On my two OVs I have never had wiping caches work. They both get to the IHO screen then reboot to the LG screen a couple times before finally getting stuck on the IHO screen. I flash the theme, never wipe anything.

Hmm, all the instructions I've ever read say to wipe 1st. You are right about step 2,.I will edit.
The only times I have had issues with wiping caches has been since I started using link2sd. Before that, I would wipe both caches at least once a week, usually to fix market 'insufficient space on device' issues, and I never had a problem

You missed my most popular but it was buried lol. I couldn't find it at first but I've now updated it with new links. Also make sure they know to get the theme based on there current build. When a new build comes out make sure to rebuild your theme because they use files unique to the build and can cause problems not having the right build.

Here's the one you missed, the blues:
[ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

Perhaps it would be easier for her to keep up with the links if theme makers had a DeviantArt page she could link to? DA accounts are free.

She updated so it went to the post specifically so all they have to do is keep the post updated and new posts can be put here and she can still link to the one post in the main post.

For future reference, how do you undo themes? Can you just go into theme chooser after all the flashing?

If you have another theme chooser theme. Other wise you flash another or reflash the rom is the only way I know of.

I did not create this theme, but I thought I should bring it to everyone's attention. There is an ICS theme available for us Optimus users.

Even so, there's a new CyanogenMod Themers group that was just created over at DeviantArt, for those who wish to submit their themes.

You are correct there. I've been looking around trying to learn about making my own theme (I want the GreenMachine theme, but all blue. Everything else identical). And everywhere says wipe cache/dalvik first. But on both mine and my wife's Optimuses doing so they never booted past the IHO splash. So I've always skipped that step.

I've skipped that step the last couple of times myself, since it seems to do really bad things if you use link2sd. (tried it once, didn't lock up at the IHO screen, but once it booted, EVERYTHING on my phone threw up force close errors all at once). I've had no ill effects with not wiping, but I included the step (now as optional) since it seems to be the norm. *shrug* whatever works.

I used the launcher pro icons and my blues theme and came up with this:

New Theme: RedHead

Get it here: RedHead 10/18

RedHead 11/02

I'm not real happy with the divider lines. They turned out way to extreme (they are everywhere!). I may redo this without them. Let me know what you guys think.

Also, if you use the center clock, it turns white. Not sure why it won't stay red.

It has to do with the coding for the center clock, UOT kitchen doesn't recognize it, so therefore it can't color it, which is why Jerry is working on an option to change the color of the center clock, and it would be a neat feature as well

After flashing a few of the themes above and a few others I always have the same problem. My lock screen is crammed and the bubbles overlap each other. Normally they are 2-3mm apart. Is this a common issue or unique to me? I've tried clearing no cache, and wiping cache and dalvik. The result is always the same. Pic of what I'm talking about below

Hmm...I have no idea. I have never used pattern unlock, so I've never seen this before. Rebooting after you flash the theme doesn't help?

Nope. Its weird because the greenmachine theme and redz theme I downloaded from the marketplace don't do this. But every other theme I've tried does it.

I don't touch the lock in my theme so I'm not sure what could be causing it.

Very odd. Do you have this problem if you setup a lockscreen?

Maybe its a problem not affected by the theme. Let me clear everything and try to reflash greenmachine.

Update:: Looks like greenmachine theme now has the problem also. Humm. Something must have affected/changed the rom I guess.

Well,I just tried flashing my pink theme and added a pattern lock and, yup, overlapping bubbles. Weird, as I don't touch the lockscreen in my themes either.

The only things I can think of that would cause that are changing the image files, or changing the screen density in the build.prop file.

I do change the font but I use widget locker for the new ics lock screen so I had never noticed it.

I thought this might come in handy, a theme reverter for those who decide to go back to vanilla BACKside-IHO after flashing a UOT Kitchen theme. It will replace the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk files that UOT Kitchen replaces. It does not replace the bootanimation, I left that alone since anyone can replace it easily. I tested it out, replacing my GreenMachineTheme with it, and it seems to work fine. All text colors, menu colors, lockscreen icons, popups, glows, borders, etc reverted to default CM7 color schemes. Let me know if you have issues.

Steps to revert to vanilla BACKside-IHO:
1- Download the BACKside-Theme-Reverter-10172011.zip to your sdcard
2- Reboot into recovery
3- Wipe cache and dalvik cache
4- Flash the reverter zip file
5- Reboot to vanilla BACKside-IHO

does this theme include a changed boot screen animation? My brother noticed his boot screen animation changed to some square thing after flashing this ROM.

Bad news everyone, there's a new build up, you're gonna have to redo all your themes.

But I did add a couple of theming options to the CyanogenMod settings Status Bar settings. You can now change the clock color, and remove the battery icon if you like.

Oh yeah, here's the new theme reverter for the 11012011 build:

Ok guys, my themes are going to take a day or two to be updated. I'm working a double tomorrow and gotta hit the hay early tonight.

And themers, remember when u update, please edit your *original* post to reflect the update. That way, the links I put up top will link to your post with the correct, updated version. Thank you!

djthebogan, I really like RYGtheme. Any plans on making it available for the 11/1 rom?

Note: The themes on this list should be updated for the current BACKside build, but some theme-er's probably work faster than others when a new build comes out, so double check the build before you flash. Make sure you are using a theme that was made for the build you are using

RedHead by sadielynn Get RedHead here

It would be easier for me if you could just post a link to my MediaFire folder here.... BACKside IHO Themes It has folders organized with themes for different builds. plus screenshots and wallpapers.

cool blue theme always leaves these little squares where text should/used to be. That's why I liked ryg so much, it didn't have this issue. Is this just because the font used? Examples below:

I noticed this too, but thought it was because of my ice theme icon download. Maybe its a problem with transparency? Could be font too. I will make a different one tomorrow.

Edit.... it was the font I believe. After installing the new ics robo font I no longer see the squares.

Here is the CoolBlue Theme with the Default Droid Sans font, so it shouldn't have any glitches

CoolBlue11-2 theme here. I used the Ubuntu font and a different battery bar, also a different loading circle. Let me know what you think. Also this includes the drizzle bootanimation.
