So if we've already flashed and lost data, is there nothing we can do?

only ones who could possibly help would have to be a virgin mobile shop. it needs to be reprogrammed to get your ha and aaa keys back. other then that you wont be able to get data unless its wifi. unfortunately it was unknown that the keys were wiped when the first guide was written. the your phone and sms service should still work fine.

Updated OP with info that this same method can be used to upgrade/downgrade/return to stock. But this would not be the easiest way to do so.

Ziplip Got the frozen

I tried you zv5.cab every time I flash, I either get frozen on the Virgin mobile splash or the Android splash screen. Does anyone know how to boot all the way.

Go into recovery by turning phone off completely, unplug anything its plugged in to.
Press volume down +home key +power button, use the volume buttons to go up and down, select factory reset with home key, reboot.

Tried that but I can't get to recovery. I just get a blank screen that stays blank.

Hold the buttons longer, wait one minute, if it doesn't do anything after a minute, start from the beginning of this guide, make sure your USB cable is good...mine has problems....

I did it for 3 minutes still nothing. BTW I've been doing this since yesterday. Maybe it is just my phone. I went back to using the optimus s cab. Didn't freeze. I could get to recovery. I used it to go back to IHO Backside.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Actually it bricked when virgin mobile released their update. I had gone out and got the Optimus S cab and finally got it working. But I hated how the home and option key were switched up. That's why I was giving this a try.

Never mind it worked. I had to run it three times in a row. Third time the virginmobile sound came as the vm splash was animated. Then it went all the way to the lockscreen.

Thank you very much

Edit: Still can't get to recovery though.

Just a guess here... Try holding menu+volume down + power to try and get into recovery..

Yeah, after flashing the s firmware it flops the home and menu keys, now that you have vm firmware it is home + volume down + power. Or you could open a command promt (assuming you have adb) and use the command adb reboot recovery.

If you still have problems entering recovery, follow my [GUIDE] Using LGNPST 1.3 to Stock ZV5.....or go to recovery by doing a factory reset in Settings>Privacy...if you're not rooted yet only.

I have installed everything. Is still get this error:

The module "C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Model\MTP\VM670.dll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x8002009.

For more information about this problem, search online using error code as a search term.

Uninstall everything that has to do with LGNPST>Reboot>Reinstall everything with Administrator privileges>Reboot>try again.

Exactly. I could give him link to bin...but the problem is not LGNPST version #, it is a bad install or not having admin permissions.

I went to using the KP500 method. I wasn't able to get into recovery. So I flashed the IHO recovery. pressed Home+Vol. Down+Power and in 4 seconds the Iho recovery screen appeared. I guess the OEM recovery has some problem.

Anyways now I'm happy with my OV

What operating system are you running?
Make sure you open the LG mobile program from the desktop icon. Open then close it once it's done checking for updates.

No problem, if you put everything in the proper location, it will work fine. Just a quick note, a lot of the posts in this thread are from an old unbrick solution. This unbrick method is completely different so those solutions won't work for ya.

Did you ever get passed the error? I have the same exact issue.

Edit: Solved. Man I really dislike bad instructions. If I hadnt followed the OP instructions I would have saved alot of time. Basically the problem were having is were getting the cab file from the wrong directory.

LG Drivers: http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-VM670

LGMobile Support Tool 1.5.4.9: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Mobile-Phone-Tools/Others/LGMobile-Support-Tool.shtml

To make it easy do this:

1. download KP500 Utility (AKA KP500-Utils-EN) and extract root of hard drive: http://www.mediafire.com/?snj4vnbidufv2tu

2. Download Cab file and place it in the folder of what you just extracted (KP500-Utils-EN): http://www.mediafire.com/?97x37a989838mtq

3. Hold volume down and back button on your phone while plugging it in to your PC to get to SW Update Mode.

4. Go to root of hard drive and open the extracted folder (LG-Utils-0.4.2). Right click KP500-Utils-EN and run as administrator.

Select (J) and press enter

Type "VM670" and press enter

Since we placed everything on the root of your hard drive, that's where we will navigate to so the program can actually choose the correct file to update or unbrick your phone with. So it will be

"cd c:/KP500-Utils-EN/ZV5.cab" and press enter.

Then type "ZV5" and press enter.

5. If it fails while downloading then the navigation of the files are incorrect. If it fails in Update then unplug your phone and plug it back in and click restart.

You will have to do a factory reset after the update to get your phone to boot up.

If I am missing something let me know.

I like those instructions, sorry I'm not the best instruction maker but you forgot 2 important parts, drivers and the LG mobile support tool.

Any idea how I can get VM to get me my HA and AAA keys? I went to a VM store, played dumb, and they had no idea how to fix it. Called VM support and they just made a support ticket. I can see through LGNPST that the keys are indeed zeroed, but I don't think I can just call VM and ask for those.

Nope, no idea, maybe go to the VM store and say maybe the AAA and HA keys are missing, tell them your phone bricked, you found an unbrick solution online because you didn't want to pay anyone to fix it.
