Unhappy Optimus V recovery image mismapped keys! HELP!

I successfully rooted Optimus V, installed cwm recovery, now the keys for navigating are mismapped!
This prohibits me from installing any .zips, roms or anything else, I can't even exit the recovery console without pulling the batter, please help!

I tried using terminal emu to flash xionia recovery image but it gives an error "flash image not found" (its on the root of my sd card)

HELP!

Let us know what Android OS you have. 2.2.1 or 2.2.2
Also let us know what baseband you have. ZV4, ZV5, or ZV9.

Which custom recovery did you install? Give full name including the #'s on the end.

Which Guide for flashing the recovery are you trying to follow? When flashing the recovery you have to type in the name of the recovery exactly as it's is spelled on the sd card (name and numbers).

Note: Most guides assume you renamed the recovery on the sd card to the name in the guide. Example: a guide might show;
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img

This means the recovery.img on the sd card needs to be renamed to: recovery.img.

If you don't want to rename the recovery.img on the sd card then you can just put the full name of the recovery.img in the code instead of just recovery.img

In all cases the name you put into the code has to match the name of the recovery.img on the sd card.

Note: In all ClockworkMod recovery's the volume up/down controls the scroll and the camera button is used to make selections.

The problem he is having installing the new recovery is because he hasn't pushed flash_image to the system yet. Try using Flash Image GUI. Just make sure the recovery image your trying to install is renamed to recovery.img, and is compatible with your phone.

Good point riggerman0421.
It could very well be a problem with not having the flash_image installed.

droid_mod: Go here for specific instructions on installing the flash_image and recovery and or using the FlashImage GUI to install the recovery; Do not Factory Reset your Rooted Phone
Go to step 6.

If you read the op he clearly states that flash_image is on the root of his sd card, not in the phone's system. That's his whole problem.

Old age is sneaking up on me (50 next year) and my eyes (my whole body as well) and mind have taken some terrible abuse working in a Sulfuric Acid plant.
