My phone has gotten S...L...O...W
I've wiped and flashed my nandroid no help. I use harmonia froyo rom. (tried her GB...too many new changes to learn, lol) I have 70ish user apps with Link2sd and lots of space left on card and internal. Thoughts?
How much RAM do you have available/left. Could be you need to clean all caches (including browser caches) then use "Fast Reboot" to stop and restart the running apps. This usually clears up 25% more RAM for me, making my phone faster.
Note: I use "Android System Info" to help keep track of my RAM and much more.
sushifor5: Your RAM is well below 50% of the 425MB that you started with. Try Running Fast Reboot twice. Then check available RAM. If phone seems snappier great. If not there is another issue, in which case you need to flash a ROM or backup that doesn't have Link2SD installed. If that improves things it might be your SD cards partition. You might need to reformat the partition using Mini Tool Partitioning Wizard. Reflash the Harmonica ROM and Download Link2SD and Titanium Backup.
Set up Link2SD, reboot and restore apps with Titanium.

I'll give it a go with fast reboot, thx. I do wonder if all my apps slog the system down. I'm not familiar with reformatting the partition or the mini tool wizard, but I'll see what I can learn.

No problem can help as long as the data connection in this dead zone is functioning.

I downloaded it and will try. I remember reading on this forum someone saying that you need to occassionally update your rom b/c the system can just get sluggish. What do you think?
Ok, the reboot helped...i now have 270mg ram. I noticed my Android Assistant app has a quick boost function and it seems to do the same thing.
So I'm now assuming that my phone is sluggish b/c there are tons of apps running in background I'm not using? How do I fix that?
270MB of RAM is now well over 50% RAM.
Checking Running Apps is a very good idea. Make a list of those that are not system apps. Close all. Check after ten minutes to see which ones have restarted on their own.
Decide if you want to keep or delete those that restart.
If still sluggish try a fresh install of Harmonia without Links2SD or anything else installed. If still sluggish try a different SD card.

You can also try updating the kernel, Harmonia 2 still uses the one mrg666 did for back in June or July and both him and I did a lot of work on the Low Memory Killer driver since then.

I really want to stick with harmonia froyo...i did flash harmonia 2, but didn't care for the gingerbread interface. I'm too old and techno challenged to learn a new system, lol.
So, for the apps that keep opening themselves and running, is there a way (with some app) to keep them closed unless I open/use them?

Not other than deleting them.
Have you tried flashing a fresh Harmonia ROM with no Link2SD installed to see if your phone is snappier without Link2SD. Just use APP2SD to move as much as you can to SD card, keeping an eye on the RAM.
It could also be your SD card that's causing the problem.

Not yet...there's no way I'd be able to keep all my apps w/o Link2sd and sd card would fill up fast, lol. I have a harmonia froyo update I haven't flashed yet b/c it is intimidating to relink and time consuming to set up all home screens again...but I might try it soon.
Your just going to flash it and install 20-30 apps to see if it was the ROM that was slow, or Link2SD that was slowing things down.
If you flash it and everything is still slow, it might be the ROM, or the backup. If it's fast again, then Links 2SD is the problem. If still slow, flash the Resurrected Bumblebee, if it's still slow, change SD card.

Her phone was running just fine with the Harmonia ROM and Link2SD. Froyo ROMs get along better with a FAT32 partition. I've used FAT32 with no problems with Gingerbread ROMs as well.
sushifor5's phone just started to get slow after having the ROM/Link2SD combo for many months.
We are in the process of trying to figure out what became corrupted, so we can straightened things out and get her phone back up to speed.
Note to sushifor5: Put SD card in computer and use Mini Tool Partition Wizard to see what the primary partition and the extended partition ( the one you made for Link2SD) are formatted to. Let me know.

Actually, phone running much smoother since the fastboot trick. I think my problem is background apps. If I keep fastbooting, I'm fine. May still flash new rom minus link2sd when I get time, but I'm pleased with the speed pickup. Thx!
